Trying to figure stuff out
Hi, I am new here, just started week 2. I am a little confused as to how to go about checking with my peer group. I am trying to follow all of the recommended things with the program. It is a little overwhelming but I think it just takes developing some kind of a system or schedule as to when to do all the stuff as well as positive self talk through out the day. I am hopeful and prayerful. I forget what its like to feel good and cheerful. I was always a pretty cheerful and positive person. I can get that back can't I? I am willing to work for it. Thanks for any encouragement.
Welcome Cathy! Yes, you can get back to peace and tranquility and being a cheerful and positive person. All of us here are just wired a little different. You'll find that we all struggle day to day to get back to leading a balanced life. Stick with the program. It will take you some time to process the information and put it into practice. It's not easy but you'll find the coping skills it teaches are extremely helpful. Good luck and remember, we're all in this together. 

Hi Cathy. I'm with you about being alittle confused with peer suppport. I am also new to the program. After 2 sessions I wanted to quit because I didn't think it was helping me, but someone suggested session 12 the courage to change and something just clicked inside of me. I started over again with a better attitude and I think we will feel good again if we keep hope alive and don't quit. Let's do our best (and get back up when we fall)because we deserve to get better and enjoy the life we have been blessed with.
Thanks for responding Joe P. and Diana J.. It is so encouraging to hear positive feedback. I will stick with the program because it just makes sense that the coping skills will work. I have to re-train my brain how to think. I have been a worrier all of my life. The anxiety is a new thing. I seemed to get really stressed out at the littlest thing. I'm hoping others have that too. It seems to help to really look at the anxiety when if flairs up and to ask yourself "okay,why are you anxious, what are you thinking?" Oh well, thanks again.

There is another section of the peer group that you may find useful. Click on the "peer group" icon at the top of your screen. On the next screen, select "Jul" in the Peer to Peer section. This will open up several forums that are for people that just started the program in July 2009 (for some reason August hasn't opened yet). The people that are posting in this forum will be on a similar schedule as you in terms of where they are in the program.
