lexapro help
Hi jt2,
ive taken lexapro in the past, I didnt like the way it made me feel somewhat like what you are feeling, but i do belive that it does pass your body has to kinda of adjust to it. However if you dont see any improvement call your DR. and see what he or she may think. In the mean time dont let it get the best of you, breath thru your anxiety, it will pass. Take care,

Hey JT2,
your'e welcome anytime. As far as anything else i tried Zolof, kelonopin, adavant, welbutrim, just to mention a few. Really the only ones that helped me out for anxiety were the kolonin and adavant. Maybe you should talk to your DR. about it, it may balance things out with the lexapro, give it a shot.
Good Luck jt

I started Lexapro for anxiety last Wednesday. I was given 5mg/day for the first 4 days. By Friday I was having the WORST panic attacks ever...lasting for about an hour and coming out of the blue. When I went to the doctor for help, I was only having fear and anxiety, but no panic attacks.
On top of that fun side effect, I have lost my appetite, am completely nauseous, have had headaches, dry mouth, and feel a "hot" feeling wave through me. I am discontinuing this pill today, and am just sticking with Klonopin, which I have found to be completely helpful for the past 2 years...I'm just going to up the dosage for now until I get better from this program.
I hope that this helps someone else. I thought that I was really losing it this time with these attacks. After researching on the internet today, I found just how common this is with Lexapro.
Best wishes to all! Good luck and God bless.

I'm doing great with Lexapro. Has helped me tons. Hardly any side effects on this one. All our bodys are different so just either give it time or if it doesn't lift, go over other options with your doctor. Every med affects each person differently. My sister takes Zoloft and is awesome on it to where I couldnt' stand it.
Best to you.
Best to you.
My doctor started me on 10 mg Lexapro & .5 mg X 3 Klonopin at the same time. I couldn't stay awake, so I reduced the Klonopin to .25 mg. When I went back to the doctor she could see that I was still out of it, so she took me off the Klonopin & increased my Lexapro to 20 mg. I had headaches for a few days, starting about a week into it, so I don't know if it was the Lexapro or not. But other than that, no side effects from it.
I can't tell that it reduces my anxiety, but it does make me think before I react, which means I'm less irritable and am more chilled. And it seems to have lessened my depression.
