HI everyone,

I'm so excited to tell you about my recent experience =)

I had been going to my doctor for illness, which at the time, I thought were but after much testing, blood test and the like, we have come to a conclusion that its relating to my panic and anxiety attacks. There are two things my doctor prescribed, one is a prescription for Cipralex and one is an advice to get Epsom Salts to relieve my constipation and to promote relaxation.

As I am a personal trainer, I get the usual muscle soreness especially since I'm slowly getting back into my fitness routine. I've also been getting the worse neck and shoulder pain due to stress and anxiety. Eventhough I try to implement my knowledge of exercise and Pilates, I still get them - really bad.

I was severely depressed recently and I'm inching my way out of it so I'm very grateful for all the support I've got, including Lucinda's program and DEFINITELY this forum.

In any event, this morning, I woke up with some soreness but as the day progressed, my neck and shoulders (including scapula, rhomboids, lats) were about to pop out of my body. I was probably aggravating everything because I was anxious about the damn soreness. So I decided to give myself a hot bath with Epsom Salts. I have never really understood the benefits of them until AFTER I took the bath.

I poured about a cup of Epsom Salts in running water which made it turn in baby blue colour. When I was ready, I put one foot at a time (it was hot!) and slowly inched my way down. Not even 10 minutes in the bath, I felt the knots in my shoulders slowly disappear. I felt wonderfully relaxed as if I've NEVER relaxed in my entire life. Okay, here is the best part.....As I implemented the breathing (inhale for 1 one thousand, 2 one thousand, etc.) for a few times, I felt a sensation....its the same sensation when I get "excited"! HA HA HA. I couldn't believe it. I wasn't thinking of anything dirty, day dreaming or fantasizing...I was staying in the MOMENT and BREATHING. The sensation was definitely coming from below my belly button and my stomach area and it felt wonderful =)

The rest of the story is Rated R since my boyfriend was home at the time =)=)=)

I'm guessing that the effects of the bath with Epsom Salts made me really relaxed which I've never felt before so I stayed in the moment and just enjoyed my time in the bath. Oh and I went back into my bath afterwards! SO RELAXING. SO HAPPY. SO GRATEFUL.

If you have never tried it, please do. It's time to forget about what's bothering us and take the time to enjoy what is available to us - even for brief periods.

Here's an awesome website about the Benefits of Epsom Salts:

I will definitely be taking these baths a few times a week ;-) Oh and you can save your bath water (with epsom salts only) for your garden. REUSE AND RECYLE.

You can also play Lucinda's relaxation tape while soaking in the tub if you choose.
