I have pretty severe anxiety & have had it for about 8 years. I take medication (zoloft) which has seemed to help for the most part. A few years ago I started having these strange sensations. Like I'm detached from myself...my mind isn't working as sharply as it should...sort of in a fog. The feeling comes & goes. Today it has been here all day. I tend to look things up on the internet & have convinced myself that I have Huntington's Disease. I spent most of the night crying & am unsure what to do about this feeling. Does anyone know anything about what I'm experiencing?
It's called derealization, or depersonalization. You feel like you're in a fog. Like nothing I'd real, like you're in a dream.
That is one of the anxiety symptoms that just about everyone has at some time. It's so weird and frustrating. It makes you think that somethings wrong with your brain. But it's not. It's just anxiety.
Listen to tape 1 in the program. The session talks about the symptoms of anxiety. The doctor explains that symptom, and why it happens.
