So I am starting session 5 today but I feel like I really didn't get session 4 or learn the most I could from it because it was a hard concept for me to grasp I guess! Should I re do it or just continue on with session 5?

Hi ashyp...First of all good for you for starting the program. I don't suggest you stay on lesson 4, go on to lesson 5. You won't grasp everything at once but eventually you will see it all comes together. That said you don't have to discard lesson 4. When I didn't quite get a lesson I would move on but look over the homework for the lesson I didn't get. When you are totaly done with the program then you will have the chance to go back through to try to grasp the litle things you may not have gotten the first time around. Hope this helped. If there is anything in specific you didn't get about lesson 4 you could try posting it and seeing if anyone could help you out. Good luck to you!

Ashyp, I also am on 4 and did not quiet get it. However, a few things happened this weekend that made me more conscientiously aware of exactly what lesson 4 tells us. I will share, my granddaughter came over and we drew an outline of her body w/ chalk on the pavement, and then she went about drawing her eyes mouth shoes etc on the chalk drawing, she did this all in white chalk. So what did I do, I had to draw in blue in the eyes and pink on the smile, She said "grandma, I already drew my mouth...." (and looked rather upset w/ me) I told her I was just putting some lipstick on her...:). Why couldn't I just be really proud of her drawing instead of changing it? Also I set myself up for disaster when I had to have the perfect easter basket for all of my adult daughters complete w/ homemade caramel easter apples. Well 3 hours later, two batches of burnt caramel and a lot of frustration, I threw it all in the trash and made rice crispy treats instead (so much easier). But what I don't get is should I not have attempted it? Because I do get satisfaction out of doing little special things, or should I have not let it get me upset when it did not turn out? That is were I am a little lost also. Well don't know if this will help or not, but it did make me stop and think where if I had not of listened to lesson 4 I may not have given it a second thought. Good luck w/ 5, I am starting next week. Going to spend one more week reviewing 1 to 4.

Tee,
I was wondering how the repeat sessions 1 through 5 for a week went for you? I was thinking about taking a week to review also.

It was good, It reminded me of some skills to use, (session 2) for my panic. I have not been feeling well lately so of course that heightens the anxiety. And with me not feeling well, reviewing helped for me to say "yes, this is the majority of my problem". So it went well. I listen to tape 5 and it really did not relate, I eat really healthy, do not do caffine at all and very little processed sugar. The exercise I could improve on, and it was nice to know that other people feel anxious after exercising, as I do. So I am not spending too much time on 5 I think I will go on to 6. How are things working for you? Have a good one, Tee

All this information really helped me. I was confused how I should be moving through the program. I did find my own answer and funny enough what I came up with was what was suggested here-move on, but refresh certain sessions.
All this is helping, but it all feels so strange. Like walking for the first time. Is there a key that unlocks a door and makes it all click into place? Please say there is. I feel like a toddler.

ashyp, definately move on to session 5, some of the concepts take awhile to sink in. the sessions build on each other and you need to keep up the momentum. From what I know, especially from those who have fully recovered, is that a second time through the program is usually necessary, I sure plan to go through a second time and I can revisit those spots like session 4 that I didn't fully grasp the first time through.
