After taking a two year hiatus from college due to my problems with anxiety, I finally decided to go back. I am currently planning to take some online classes in the spring. I notice the difference in my anxiety levels. They used to be really bad where I was agoraphobic at one point. I haven't had that many panic attacks for in the last year and a half. I just have to stay optimistic and continue to have faith.
As soon I started thinking about going back to school, the anxiety symptoms started to come back. But managed to feel better once I distracted myself. Also, reassured myself that it's just anxiety. It won't hurt me.
With the new year already here, anything is possible. It does not hurt to try.
Stay Strong!
Hi Beachgurl22,
I commend you for your willingness to move forward and tackle some pretty big steps.
I know you will be able to do this. You are right in that it is only anxiety and it will not hurt you. Stay focussed on your task and your life and you will do excellently well.
College is stressful for any person, with or without anxiety issues... so be proud and give yourself a big A Plus for taking it on again.
Take care and good luck!
