Hi everyone,
I received my the program program last Tuesday, 3/9/10, and started right away. I did get a little anxious after I started listening and writing, when I went out in my car to various places....glad that was mentioned as normal!
The program tells me to come here and get involved with others....how do I do that the best? Just start reading posts and replying, or what?
Anyone feel like going through the program together?
If anyone has suggestions, I am open.
Thanks!

Hi Guitar!

WELCOME!!!!!!!!!! to the program!!!

As for your question. To connect with others, you can do as you just did. Make posts and others will respond.

You can PM (send a private message) to someone and talk one on one.

You can also go into the chatroom and talk with many people endlessly.

When you click on the "GO" button on the upper left, you'll see the tabs to take you there.

Guitar I hope you enjoy the forums!

Hey John,

Welcome to the Program. I just started answering posts or asking questions that I had and others answered my post. You could ask if there are any "newbies" like you who want to go through the program together. You will learn things like OK, I have that too or HUM, that is how they solved that problem. The best part is you will meet people who have recovered!!

It is a real positive sign that you started immediately--that means you are serious about getting better. It is normal to feel more anxious at first--I sure did and a lot of others have too. I am sure you heard Lucinda say that is to be expected. The good news is, after a while, you get over that. You will be learning a lot of coping skills.

Good luck to you!!

John,

Welcome!!!! All the above works well!!! I have met some wonderful people in the chat room. I have asked several questions on the forum, such as your are doing now.

Never feel like you are alone, because you are not and you will hear this a lot, but it is the truth!!!! When I first started, I was on this site several times a day because I was just so out of sorts and just couldn't understand why I was feeling the way that I was feeling, if that makes any sense!!!

Welcome again and much success to you on this journey.

Hey! Thank you! I've chatted once, but the chat closed and they went to some other weird site - where I registered - but could never even find a single way to get to the room that they gave to me? Do you know what I am referring too?
I'll add you as a buddy too, if you don't mind...thanks again!

*Wondering if we know each other living in this smaller city?*
Thanks for writing me...I'll add you to my buddies list, if that's ok with you!
