I'm New any other Aussies?
Hi, I'm just about to start session 3. I'm travelling really well at the moment because I'm heavily medicated. Usually I don't start doing any work on myself until I'm really down in the dumps or in hospital. I decided, after seeing the infomercial, to try this while I'm feeling good and my brain is functioning. Already after 2 sessions I'm feeling very confident that I will be able to lower my medication after doing the full course. With my psychiatrist's approval of course.
Using a computer is one thing that I find very challenging and anxiety provoking so here I am doing it with no anxiety at this point.

Hi Bird,
This is Coach Chris from the coaching team here at Stress. We do have at least two other "Aussies" who just recently joined the forums. I hope they respond to your post.
It is great to hear you are doing so well. Lesson 2 is really helpful in learning how to get our power back from the adrenalin. Practicing the 6 steps and using your relaxation cd is very important. Be sure to minimize caffeine/sugars and drink adequate amounts of water.
Keep us posted on your progress. Private message me if you need anything.
We are here to help.

Thank you for the reply, Chris. Week 3 has been very daunting. I had no idea how negative I am until I started catching myself. I've got a very big job ahead of me.

Hi, I'm an Aussie! i'm from Brisbane, where are you from? I'm up to session 8 & doing great. I thought I was fully recovered by the end of session 7 so I took a week break from the program & it was the best week I've had in a very long time but after starting session 8 this week I've noticed some anxiety has returned & I started having doubts but i'm getting through it & shall continue until I finish the program!

Hi Jeremy, I live at Hastings Point which is 20 minutes south of Tweed Heads so I'm not very far from you. I'm in Darwin for the winter though and won't be home until the weather warms up down there.
I'm on week four now and travelling quite well. Although I'm not feeling negative I notice that a lot of what comes out of my mouth is negative, even when I'm being humorous. I've got a long way to go with week three still.
With your anxiety are you doing the breathing for a whole minute? Sometimes when I first wake up in the morning I have to do it for two minutes but I find that I can always get rid of it eventually.

Re: I'm New any other Aussies?
Hi Guys and Chris
I'm about to start on week 7.
I'm normally an assertive person, having read, 'When I say "No" I feel guilty," by Manuel Smith about a dozen times in the last twenty years. I had a situation come up where I needed to be especially assertive without rocking the boat too much, so I skipped ahead and listened to the number 7 CD a few days early.
Bruce, the owner of the Holiday Park my partner and I always stay in when we come to Darwin, has recently started to give us the cold shoulder by ignoring us and being icy when we say 'Good Morning,' etc.
We are obviously feeling very uncomfortable and very unhappy because we love it here, have many friends here and up until now always considered Bruce one of them.
Last Thursday Bruce organised the group to go to the golf course on the following Friday and made sure that all the cars were full and there was no room for my partner Bob in any of them. (We have a motorhome, not a caravan, and it's difficult to pack up and drive to the course). I was so upset because he knows Bob loves playing every Friday and he'd managed to cut him out.
I cried and cried and started packing up the motorhome, determined to take Bob to the course the next morning. Bob got a touch of sunstroke and didn't go. I think he didn't want to go after being shafted like that.
I knew I had to confront Bruce over this because I can't stand the situation.
I practiced starting on a positive and telling him how much I love his park and the way he runs it. Then I was going to tell him that I feel sad because it's obvious that we, especially Bob, had done something to upset him and would he please tell me what we had done and how we could rectify the situation.
Well, I completely forgot about starting with a positive and weighed straight in with, 'I feel sad because.....' When I'd finished he looked at me with absolute hatred and told me that he didn't have to explain himself to me and that I just needed to drop it. I knew that if I said another word he would tell me to leave!
Normally I would have been devastated, packed up and gone home early, gone into a deep depression for a few months and maybe even ended up in hospital.
Not this time though!!! Not with all my new training. I went back to Bob, who asked me what I had been talking to Bruce about, told him what had happened and said that we were going to have to ignore it, not talk about it to anyone here in the park and just get on with enjoying our other friends for the rest of the season. Bob looked at me absolutely amazed and asked if I was okay. I said I was thanks to the program I'm on. I love it!!

Hi All, im another person in Australia enjoying the course and noticing results.
It sounds like its worked amazingly well for you Bird to give you the confidence to confront someone, I hope it all worked out for you?
Greg im in Melbourne too, been pretty cold lately huh?
It would be good if we could all post regularly and support each other through any positives or negatives, its amazing how much writing it down helps and I notice this forum is relatively quiet so come on auzzies, lets get the ball rolling!!

Re: I'm New any other Aussies?
Hi All,
How are you other Aussies doing? Please let me know and I will try to log in more often. I'm at week 11 but feel that I haven't really done enough for week 10. I'm back from Darwin and started the week full of hope and promise but it's been a trying week and I am struggling a bit now. It's always a bad time when I come back to the real world after Darwin but I'm determined to not let it get me down. Have any of you joined it the Sunday night chat? Would you be interested in talking to me on the phone? If so my number is 0407 911 474 and all my calls are free after 6pm, so if you text me with your number I'll call you back after 6.
Regards Verna(female) from Birdbrains
