Rapid pulse, raised blood pressure/anxiety medication

While in school for medical assisting, I found that my pulse and bloodpressure were high. I went to doctor and started an anxiety medication which has helped. So It is caused from anxiety not high bloodpressure. Does anyone else have this problem. I want to hopefully go off the medication but meed to help my anxiety first. I also stopped the medication for about a week when GI problems started but ended up in er room with very intense anxiety, so went back on it. On session 2 and hoping to find support on here.
