Hi there!

I haven't posted here in a long time, but after a bout with illness, seem to be having a relapse.

Some background: I've been taking Lexapro for a few years now after being diagnosed with generalized anxiety and panic disorder some years ago.

For the last two weeks, I've gotten a cold, a sinus infection, a relapse of asthma and have missed almost a week of work.

I, of course, am catastrophizing being sick....my doctor unfortunately put some "buzz" words in my head (pnemonia, wheezing, etc.) and that got me spinning.

Now it's affecting my sleep. When I either start to drop off, it's like somewhere I am afraid to fall asleep so I jerk awake with a weird sensation in my head. When I've been asleep and wake up suddenly, I have the weird buzzing/tremoring (is that a word) sensation in my head/body as well. Seems to only happen when I am not getting quality sleep or am stressed.

Any advice or help you can offer? Has anyone else experienced this before?

Of course now after surfing the web, I'm wondering if it's seizures or something or if it's something as "innocent" as being sinus-related. I don't know. I'm just scared!

Thank you for ANY help or coping advice you can give! Unfortunately my Panic to Power stuff is in storage and I can't get to it!!

Keeping the faith I am sorry to hear that you have been under the weather with being ill. When we don't feel good and over tired and stressed, it sets us up for a "growth spurt" of anxiety.

You need to keep telling yourself of course its ok to have anxiety, because I'm sick, I haven;t been sleeping well and my stress level is up.

try and remember the 6 steps:
1. accept float don't fight it
2. permission I know what this is.
3. breathe in hale 2 exhale 4
4. inner dialogue positive and comforting.
5. distractaction, mental, physical for attleast 15 mintues
6. let time pass discomfort always passses.

read through some of the posts on the forums, there are some really great people on here who have had some similar issues.

take care and God Bless
