Since so many of us suffer with this, I was reading a book by Prevention Magazine called The Doctors Book of Healing Foods. It recommends ginger tea. It is supposed to strengthen the holding power of the lower esophageal sphincter, which helps keep the acid in your tummy, not your esphagus. Was wondering if anoyne has tried this and if they have had success with it?

The book also has a list of no-no's for this condition: chocolate, citrus fruit, coffee, fried foods, saturated fats, full dairy products, red meat, onions, orange juice, peppermint, spicy foods and tomatoes. Ugh--that is a lot of stuff to avoid, isn't it?
