anticipatory anxiety advice needed

Post by sleepyby8 » Thu May 12, 2011 7:37 pm

We just received a phone call that my husband, my 9 yr old son and I have to go to court on Monday regarding an incident where my son was bit in the face by a dog. I am so nervous about it and the chance that we will all have to testify. I'm trying to get it under control so that I don't ruin my whole weekend worrying. Any tips, advice are welcome. I've been doing better with the anxiety thanks to the program (week 8) and lexapro. How an I going to do this? It's also an hr drive to get there :(

Try and use those nerves to be on top of your game. Try and go in prepared. Think of questions they may possibly ask you, almost like preparing for a job interview where someone will be asking you questions, this will be much the same. I have a review at work tomorrow, so I feel your pain ;) But I've prepared a list of things to discuss, this makes me feel better. I know if I walked in without preparing, I would be even more nervous.

OH...I hope things get better for you. Not fun to have your day wasted though. Paislee
