Physical symptoms worsening
I have been using the program for months and I was finally back to feeling GREAT...Until a family member committed suicide and in that same week, my wife lost her job. I have noticed that I am NOT good with change and that my symptoms appear mostly when changes are occuring. Lately, I have been experiencing the lump in the throat, the chest pains, the dooming thoughts, but what is worsening for me is muscle tenstion and joint pain. I am seeing a chiropractor for the shoulder and joint pain currently. I fell asleep to the relaxation cd last night.....I just set it on repeat and let it roll...... But today I have the chest discomfort and just sick of feeling sick.....just want to be ME again. I made it through the program once, but last week had to start all over again to get myself out of this funk.... Just wanted to share. Have a great day all and always praying for strength!!!!

Sunshine769, thanks for sharing your ride on a gutter ball. Life just outright sucks at times when things like that come out of nowhere. Tomorrow is a new day and as you get on the I can do it train things will move back into some form more acceptable. Be abit easier on yourself maybe and let time grieve the process.
Best of luck.
Best of luck.

sunshine769,
I agree with what sowhatif said.
I can only encourage you to keep using all the tools you learned going through the program. Change is hard on all of us, but really that is what keeps on happening "change". Be kind to your self. You'll get back to your old/ new self soon. Its ok to be sad, keep the faith!

Hi sunshine 769-I'm sorry about the losses you are experiencing right now. I lost my son to suicide so I know a little bit about the pain that can cause and the change in your life as well. Also, I'm familiar with spouses losing jobs also, not fun at all. Also, all those body symptoms, I have felt or am feeling now. This program has helped me as well as this forum where we can voice our frustrations and pain. THH and Sowhatif are so very helpful, indeed. I'll be checking in on your progress. Paislee

This is my second time through, too. I finished the program in '09 & had 14 months of joy. Things came up but I was able to talk my way through it & see the problems for what they were. Then my daughter moved home & the anxiety returned not like it was but still lurking around. The problem is I am not putting the program first like I did the first time. We know it works we just have to work it. Right?
God gives us short comings so we will be dependant on Him. I beleive I will be better than ever soon so I can help others.

I felt so great for 14 months that now I keep checking for those old feelings. I get butterflies in the stomach. I then tell myself if you look for it you will find it. I then deep breath & tell my spirit to be still. I need to just do the work there are no shortcuts to feelilng good. I had a Peanut Buster Parfait on Sunday & I felt terrible on Monday. We are sensitive creatures & I know better.

Layha, you are so right! We are sensitive creatures. My husband doesn't quite understand what even food can do to us. Today on Dr Oz he talked about carbohydrates and how some people are truly addicted to them. It was quite helpful as a guest was on that explained what food items and other activities that bring on Serotonin levels. So it was good to watch this episode in relation to our anxieties and how to feel good and not get those butterflies in the tummy.
I do not like feeling those feelings at all, but its true we have to figure out what is making us feel them. Paislee

I love Dr. Oz he is the best. I am a personal trainer in a health club so I agree with him.

Re: Physical symptoms worsening
That's neat that you are a personal trainer at a health club. I need to go visit my health club.
It would bring me all kinds of "good feelings".
But so does working in my garden and doing other things that takes some effort. Just getting dressed for the day makes a difference.
I do go walking in my neighborhood, but haven't done much lately due to inclement weather, that's why the health club would be beneficial, it has the treadmills and I would also get some social interaction. Plus the pool and jacuzzi. I don't live too far from it either, just two miles away. It is the get up and go syndrome vs doing things at home that gives me exercise and gets chores done that keeps me from going.
My muscles ache more now that I'm older, but realize that I need the all around exercise that swimming and walking on a treadmill would bring instead of pulling weeds and probably thinking negative thoughts of all the work I need to do around my yard. I live on an acre and I am the main gardener, declutterer, pruner, garbage collector, etc. So I've been working on staying in the present and focusing on one task at a time and ignore the other chores calling out to me. I tell myself, I have time, I have a neighbor boy that helps me. Eventually, it will get done...I just need to not stress over it.
Soon though, my passes to a water park will be put into good use and I again will enjoy some summer fun, exercise and relaxation. This is where my serotonin levels will increase even more.
