Getting healthy and attacks
Ok so my wife and I joined this new Health fitness center and I am just starting to see the results. So my question is, does the "old me" have a problem with me getting healthy? Do the former demons not like the fact Im changing for the better? The reason I ask is that earlier today I was starting to have a great day(i havent had one in a while) and when I noticed I was enjoying myself again I started getting the feeling of an attack coming on. I know its just a feeling but when I try to figure out why the only thing I can come up with is the fact I getting better and my former inner demons don't like it.
I really don't buy that but I can't seem to find another cause. Please give me any ideas

Dear Wildcard,
Yes, It is DEFINITELY your "old demons"! I think we start to feel guilty every time things begin to look brighter, or we have just allowed ourselves to expect the worst and wait for the other shoe to drop, so to speak. The answer for me has been in spiritual affirmations and prayers. They really reprogram my brain, it seems, when I repeat them over and over in my head. And when another thought interferes, I say "that's not true--it's just the demons--go away demons!" We must convince our brains that happy and feeling good are NORMAL, not our usual way of thinking. I have to keep reminding myself that my Heavenly Father knows me, loves me, and He knows where I am. He has an individual plan for each of us, and when we start to go "bonkers" we are refusing his love and inviting the demons in. Don't do it--keep smiling, even if it hurts! Also, cut back or avoid alcohol, caffeine and sugar, as well as white flour. When I indulge, the panic tries to come back. Have a blessed weekend!

I am a great fan of and believer in exercise and eating healthy. Hope you don't get discouraged. There are few panaceas, but patience and persistence will keep you on the right track.
There are a number of gym activities you can do at home with minimal expense. Can be a good distraction at times.
