Hello CarolM, I was diagnosed with ADD about 2 years ago, but probably had it as a child. I've tried every medication out there. Right now, I take 60mg of Adderrol per day. I am also a fulltime student trying to become a nurse. The problem I'm having is that the medication really helps me focus on my college work, but it creates so much anxiety. It's a strong stimulant. Far more powerful than any amount of coffee! I really want to come off it because it's no good for my condition. I'm just scared to. What will happen to my college grades? There are other alternatives that a doctor can recommend that don't cotain the stimulant effect. Check them out, they may work for you. Unfortunatly, they didn't work for me.

Thanks for your reply Colin. I haven't tried medications for it yet. I think mine is mild enough for just lifestyle changes. The doc said if i want med's he would give it to me though. I didn't realize that some have a strong stimulant, wow that's good to know esp with the anxiety problem. I'm sorry to hear the one's your on are bothering your anxiety, I wonder if there is a lower dose of the same meds that the doctor can put you on. We'll take good care of yourself, remember in the long run your well being is most important. thanks again for the info!
