So I am nearing the end of my job--I gave my notice 2 weeks ago and I have 9 days left.
Well, I ended up in the ER on Monday secondary to my stress--actually the dr told me I was dehydrated and I got fluids!
I took a Xanax today to get started on my day and I am feeling very tired and out of it.
They are making it very dificult for me about leaving and I believe that is the stressor.
Just looking for some prayers and support that I will be okay and I can get through this!! I feel so detached and out of it....please any advice would be great!!

First and foremost, remember to be kind to yourself. You're going through a lot of stress right now and it's okay not to feel in tip-top shape. Give yourself credit for how well you're doing under the circumstances. Keep up your positive self talk and remind yourself that the body symptoms are normal and not dangerous. Lastly, give yourself permission to have a great day!

Wishing you the best,
Jamie

L, accept that you are under quite a bit of stress at the moment and I'm sure the Xanax is playing a part in you feeling the way you do. Try and focus on your tasks at hand. Look how far you've made it and each and every day that you get by is a win. It's hard but keep working. You're ok.

Maybe each day you get through remind yourself that is one more day done and that you can get through this. Each day done is one more day closer to the end of this job. Workplace stress is difficult but just keep telling yourself you can get through the last days until it is over. take care

Labourg,

You have more support than you know on these forums. It must have been very scary to end up in the ER. Isn't it amazing how our minds can convince us there's something physically wrong? The trick is to turn the negative mindset into a positive one. With all of that energy put toward positive goals, you should be able to fly!

Remember you're going through an especially rough time and you will come out the other side. Only a few more days and your job will be in your rear view mirror. And if they're making it difficult for you at work, that must mean that you made a positive difference there, but it's your life and your choice. Don't let anybody convince you otherwise.

Watch that Xanax. I just wrote to someone else yesterday whose doctor didn't mention that it can be addictive. Who needs more problems? This is not to say that it can't be helpful on a temporary basis when you get overwhelmed.

Remember how many people there are here, and we all are dealing with the same problems. People think that courage means you have no fear, but it really means that you act in spite of that fear. You're doing great! Don't forget it! :)
