I have GAD!
I went through the program several years ago.
It helped GREATLY! I was agoraphobic and once in a while still have some symptoms of that.
But the one thing I never really got over no matter how hard I try, is the feeling that something aint just right with me. I try all the self talk, but lately I have been stressing out about everything that doesnt feel right in my body!
And I wonder if some of you would share with me your body syptoms of anxiety and how your convince yourself that you are ok?

I know I am making myself just sick over this!!!
Thank you for reading this,

Hi waterdrinker!

I freak out over the physical things too...my newest being too stressed to get food into my body...I've lost a lot of weight recently - my clothes aren't fitting right but I find knowledge is power. I've talked to my dietition friend and Nurse friends and my husband who is in tip top shape and they all assured me I will not die from eating less! lol!...as long as I eat healthy I will still be ok. It's about getting the knowledge you need to take on the physical symptoms. I stopped weighing myself because it's becoming an obsession and feeding my fears. I can eat now. Its just when i eat my body is having a hard time with the food i'm sending it and that is normal with stress. You need to find out what is normal to happen with your body under stress and what is not.
My idea is that if I can get my stress under control, the body symptoms will follow so I am motivated. Don't fight the things you're feeling...just go with them and they won't last forever.

This is the first time I'm posting on here, so i hope I do it right. I completly understand that you just feel like something isn't right with yourself. I get such weird body symptoms and it really causes me to stress out. I always wonder if what I'm feeling is normal. (i.e. weird tingling feelings in my hands, light headedness, etc.) I've blood work done about a million times, and its ALWAYS normal! I'm totally right there with ya! Have you had a check up at the doctor and everything?

I get the inner edginess and feeling of nausea. Sometimes it just pops up out of nowhere and I start instantly feeling the WHATS WRONG WITH ME. And I have even gone for days in complete state of panic!
So then I feel weak, tired and again I start wondering WHATS WRONG WITH ME! Of corse I am weak and tired I just had three intense days of panic!
It can be aweful. I work on the positive self talk but deep inside I just feel like something is wrong. I have too been to the doctors and always diagonsed with GAD.

Thanks!

I get the same type of symptoms when I get anxiey overload. Sometimes I feel as if I could sleep all day. I too have been to doctors and have been diagnosed with GAD.

I think it is the stress that causes us to become so fatigued.

I am having a very painful body symptom. By back started hurting around...8 or 9 months ago. I had tests run and found it was muscle but had no idea at all what could have happened to hurt my muscles. I am now seeing a rehabilitation doctor for my back and she believes it was all caused by stress. When you stress, your muscles tense up. I know she is right because whenever I get a little upset, I feel those back muscles squeeze the life out of each other and it is very painful. I am just starting this program and I hope by learning to relax I can give those muscles a chance to heal. Anyone else have a similar problem?
