spacey and dizzy
I have the same problem. Not only when people come over but everyday of my life 24 hours a day. I would like some suggestions myself. I trying to figure out how to make it go away myself. I try not to move around or turn to fast at times but it is still there. Maybe I am so focused on it that its not going to go away until I stop thinking about it so much. It still scares me a lot and I am trying to get past that.
I'm not sure about this completely, but is it the start of a panic attack?
I always think my spaciness and dizzy spells come out of nowhere, but not according to Lucinda. I know that after dizzy and spacy my heart beats faster and I get very very nervous.
Then I check out mentally, like I can't even hear what people are saying to me.
If that is your case, you're supposed to flow with the feelings and admit you're anxious and nervous and dizzy. It will pass. Hope that helps.

Hello. I have felt that way everyday of my life, also 24/7. It is the most disturbing feeling of anxiety or what ever it is. I have found nothing to stop it, except sleep, alot!! I went to a chiropractor today for the first time. I think I may be on to something. He ran some muscle spinal test things and they came back pretty out of wack. He thinks that would be the reason that I am dizzy because of some pinched nerves. He also said tension over amount of time can make your nerves tense up and cause lack of oxygen to your brain. So I am going to continue his treatment and see if this helps. Trust me. I am desperate also.
hi there that spacy bewildered feeling is a huge thing for me...its better for me than it was but I can still get that sensation when Im nervous about things. Its a scary feeling but its just a feeling....I know it feels so REAL and its really happening but its happening from the thoughts your are saying in your head.
We are creatures of pattern so if we had an episode in one situation chances are we already anticipating in happening again when that same type of situation comes again......so my best advice is to work your skills on anciticipatory anxiety and eat and sleep well and dont wear yourself out to the point of exhaustion prior to your guests arriving or your outing.
When you feel the sensations coming on simply excuse yourself from the conversation or room go to the bathroom put a cool rag on the back of your neck. and breath deep breaths drink some cold water and it will pass I promise you it will pass.
your having a panic attack when this is happening and you can control this. It takes time to break the bad habits our minds have created....
The cool rag is a miracle fix...try it youll see.
Hang in there.

I also get the spacy feelings when I get anxious and/or know a panic attack is coming. It is very scary to be there, but not be there.
I had this feeling when my wife and I had friends over recently. (I was anxious about ruining the evening cuz the last time we did the same, I ended up wanting to go to the ER by the end of the night). Anyway, I felt fine once I got involved, played cards, etc. Also, after a couple beers. I know alcohol is not supposed to be used this way, but it does help sometimes.
To scaredgiel1, I recently started going to a chiropractor also. I know it's not the end-all, be-all of what's ailing me, but it seems to be helping (at least with tension and some of my panicky symptoms that mimic neurological things).
