Hi everyone,

I was wondering if any of you are dealing with this situation. I have been on Lexparo for 4 months now and clopin for sleep. I'm doing the program too. It has seems to help. But sometimes when I don't do my regular things like taking my heathly vitamins, running everday I feel the hot sensation through my whole body and it never goes away unless I take a Zanax which I have not done in 6 months. I'm so proud of my self. Now I'm just got back on birth control and ever since then I have had the ful blown hot feeling. It's just on my back arms and shooulders. it feel like a really back sun burn. So then after dealing with this for 4 days and getting pleny of sleep running and vitamins I woke up this morning feeling great as soon as I took the birth control it the hotness hit me and it's still not gone away. Clopin makes it go away which is a releif at the end of the day. At one point I was going to lean off my clopin but now I think I can't the pain hurts so bad oh yea its in my hands too. It feels like needdles in my body. I don't know if it's a nerouvous problems like nerves I mean. So is anyone dealing with this hot feeling. It's not like a hot flash that comes and goes it comes and doesn't go away. My mom came over and said I was realy calm doing landry playing with my kids and I said yea I'm clam not thinking about it but it still hurts. So she thought I might need to see a neouglist. But before I took the birth control I was doing much better. I callled my doctor but they have not gotten back from me. Sorry for the long message. Thanks for any help.

I forgot to say. I have been having these burning sensations through my body even before the birth control pills. They come on for a day or go depending if I do the right things I need to do so it might not be the birth control it might be my hrmones would a hormone test be a choice to do. Or can you all think of another doctor specialist I would need to see. Thanks forgot to put this in my first post.

I've struggled with the burning sensation in the exact places you described, but mine started as a reaction to xanax. After I got off the xanax, I would struggle with the burning still at times but not as bad, and here's my theory. I think it's a reaction to muscle tension from anxiety and adrenaline. I also think there were times after the xanax that I would have the memory of the burning sensation. I really, really hated it. Exercise really helped me with this symptom because I guess it got rid of the tension and adrenaline.

So, I have had it, and I hated it so I do understand. It most likely is a symptom of anxiety that medication can make worse or better depending on what the med is. I mean, anxiety is called a "nervous" condition because it effects your nerves. All of the adrenaline causes your nerve endings to be on overload. My son has severe autism, and people with autism often experience sensory overload. In other words, their senses become painful, and they get symptoms like that. I just really feel that people with anxiety often get sensory overload as well. Hope something I said helps. At least you will know you are not the only one with the burning sensation.

Take care,

Thanks so much for the advice. I thought it might be nerves but it's doesn't feel like when your foot falls asleep and you shake it and it's not that feeling. More of a sunburn just in my arms back sometimes face. Did you see a neurogist and what are you taking to make it go away or doing. I run everyday take tons of helarthy vitmins like 30 each day. My stress level is pretty calm with 2 young girls. Sometimes is so painful it feels like needles in my body but mostly a burning sensation just your opioon on what you took or did about it I'm now on birth control and I feel it is releases more progestilon to irratant my nerous system. It's all so confusing. So any insite. Thanks so much. What was your hot burning feeling like. God Bless are you better has it gone away. In Christ Christin

Wow!!! Last year I had the same burning feeling. I mean it felt like someone poured gasoline on me and lit a match. I also suffer from severe anxiety and at that time I was having relationship problems, so I believe all the stress may have played a major part in why this was happening to me...however yesterday It came back so it is funny that I saw your topic today...Im like oh no not again I dont want this feeling...I couldnt sleep and my body feels sooooo flushed but I dont have a fever...I also started Topomax for headaches atleast 2 weeks ago and have symptoms so I dont know what it is.., Anyway I went outside to get some air and tried to drink lots of water and excercise...unfortunately I dont think its going to go away in one day..But you are not alone.....The doctor told me it was anxiety as usual....

I had that when I first started Lexapro, it doesnt last with me kinda like a hot flush, prickly feeling. I have since gotten them a few times since started Lex a year ago, they are rare, I often feel like its my bodies reaction to being tired, stress, etc and now that I am on the Lex and dont have anxiety its my bodies way of showing the anxiety, but then the meds kick in and it goes away quickly. I wonder if its a SE from the Lex??
