what if we all can?

I was thinking earlier on my own situation and recent anxieties and something came to mind. I've been through a lot of stuff in my life...I would venture to say many of us have. The last month and a half, I've spent being tested and tested and tested by doctors. During that entire month and a half, I kept it together very well. I had my moments of fear, but for the most part I used my skills, and I made it through. I decided I just couldn't think about it, because it could be anything!

Well, it seems if I can apply that philosophy to my health scare, I should be able to apply it to the rest of my life...especially ones that are in no way life threatening! Right?

Can we really just choose not to worry and just say look at all the things I've gotten through...look at what I've done and the changes I've made.

There are moments where i say to myself (possibly out of strength, is that what this is?), this is my choice...I'm not going to let someone else make me feel bad or stop me from going after what I want. Don't I have that power? Isn't that MY choice?

But then I question myself, because for some reason that seems too easy. Really? Can I really get through anything if I just really believe I can? Is that what this program is all about?

lilsismj, I certainly think we can get through anything. It is our choice, our power. What's hard (at least for me) is the way my mind tends to work vs. the way it should.

I too have been tested and tested over the last 4 weeks. So far, I am a picture of health, but I certainly don't feel like it sometimes. I know it's probably nothing, but my mind keeps saying "yeah, but what if..."

But, yes, I need to choose to push through. We do have the power. We can do this. We have done a lot in our lives, accomplished a lot, we mean a lot to people. Why let anxiety get us?

Thanks for your message. It was inspirational.

I'm glad that you found inspiration here. I am curious as to what some veterans with more experience than me will say. It boggles my mind sometimes when I think...is it really that simple?

This is my choice? I really DON'T have to be scared? You mean nothing is going to happen if I forget to worry? Even though things might be difficult, we can still do it? Really?

I think that might just be it. And, wow, that is power!
