So, if I tell myself "this is just habit; just an automatic response" over and over each time when I feel an emotion that makes me uneasy, it will eventually stop bothering me and I won't get those feelings anymore?

True. Once you finally convince yourself that this is just anxiety, it usually goes away. It might take a while though so don't get discouraged if it doesn't happen over night. The feeling may come back at times, but you will no longer get panicky over it and it will go away faster. Just being kind to yourself and your emotions can make a huge difference. Letting yourself know that this is what it is..and it is OK to feel this way (I'm feeling anxious and that is ok...it will pass, for example) will help you in the long run. Good job on working at it!
