I have recieved the program but have not started yet. I have OCD and right now my order is turned upside down. I like to be in control and right now we are remodeling a bathroom and other home improvements. There is clutter and chaos everywhere, not to mention dust from the drywall. People say they will be back the next day, then dont' show up or drive a half hour to get here, work an hour and a half and leave for the day.
It is hard for me to start new things, afraid of failure, afraid of the unknown, afaid I'll screw up. With my OCD even sending this message I have to read it over and over, check the spelling, wondering if it sounds stupid.
Need to get started
Your letter does NOT sound stupid. Our emotions can be irrational, but knowing that in your head does not make them feel any less real. I'm a teacher who is afraid to teach. It's not the lesson planning or being in front of students, i.e. the classroom part that scares me, it's all of the new paperwork, constant e-mails from administration, the district, administration observations, etc. I'm doing temporary work because I had to resign my last position for the good of my students. I just got the program and haven't started yet, but there was one comment in the preview booklet that has stuck with me-give yourself POSITIVE self-talk and stop to breathe slowly and deeply. It doesn't take away all of my anxiety, but it does tone it down some. Best Wishes, twocats
I think if you start the program, it will help you with the clutter. I know what you mean though. But if you don't start it, it will just keep being one more thing you have to do. Trust me, you will be glad you started it. I look forward to coming home everyday and doing this program and also chatting online to everyone. You won't fail. It's not a test.
