I am by no stretch an expert on PTSD, however, I did experience it a few years back. For me, it wasn't just the reliving over and over of the traumatic experience, although that was part of it. It was also that everything I needed to do became very stressful. I could not handle life the same as I could prior to my traumatic event.

This led to depression and anxiety for me. I had been going to talk therapy and this helped with the specifics surrounding my traumatic event and reliving it, but it took much longer to get through all of the anxiety and depression that came about as a result of my event.

I would highly suggest finding a trusted therapist to talk to about PTSD. This program certainly will help, but doesn't get into the specifics that you may need surrounding the event that caused you trauma.

Hi Johnboy11, First off I want to say that I empathize with you, as I have had PTSD as well. Mine started when I was 19 (I am 45 now) and I had NOoooo idea that that is what I was experiencing at the time, as there really was no literature available to me. I agree with Sunbound that a trusted therapist is really important to find and confide in. In addition to my therapist, when I finally found this program I worked at it really hard and it ABSOLUTELY helped me a lot. I would tell you too, that remember, PTSD is so very treatable, and with the right guidance you can and will heal. I know how scary it is.....but you absolutely will heal and feel better, it just does not happen over night. Keep your chin up, and go ahead and find a good and trusted therapist, and work this program as well. God bless, June
