The power of herbal teas!!!
I just thought maybe I would share this small discovery that I have made. Herbal teas make a world of difference at night when I am trying to wind down. I know it sounds crazy but I am so serious. I usually drink about 3 cups of herbal tea. I usually drink Chamomile, Tension Tamer, or Sleepy Time Tea. They really do work. And they are natural.
Anxiety is living in the future, Depression is living in the past.

I too started drinking tea. I started the program last thursday and in the workbook it recommends cutting out the coffee (caffeine) and replace if youre a coffee drinker. i wasnt a daily coffee drinker so it was easier to cut it out, i just enjoyed having it occasionally during the week. im drinking TAZO Calm (blend of chamomile, rose petals and other soothing herbs) and TAZO Zen (green tea with lemongrass and spearmint). the book recommends the green tea in the AM and chamomile in the PM, but i switch it up. i prefer the Calm. it's good to know that food can affect our moods and anxiety, ive known the basic principle for years. now the harder thing for me, in addition to cutting out/back on caffeine, is the sweets. ive started making changes when i can so im on a good road. im already seeing with doing this program just for a week now that my obsessive controlling thoughts and helplessness to anxiety is lessening. i hope everyone is feeling some sort of relief thus far.

I love herbal teas too... Green tea and chamomile are good... But nothing beats exercise... For me, I love the CD on exercise and nutrition.. I believe #5...
I've read up on it... And it only takes 10-minutes of movement to feel better... This includes a daily walk... For me, I like working up a sweat in the gym on the bike, rower or elliptical...
I eat eggs every weekday... Eggs have high contents of typtophan... I believe this aids in production of dopamine.. Basically, a relaxant hormone... My morning breakfast is purely anti-anxiety... I would venture to say healthy eating = anti-anxiety...
My breakfast is typically an oatmeal packet topped with old-fashioned oats... Some sugar is beneficial, this is why I use an oatmeal packet... Oatmeal is topped with nuts and fruit... Then 3 egg whites with some vegetable cooked in (bell pepper, spinach)...
I then take 2 fish oil tablets and a garlic tablet... Then I sip my brewed cup of green tea... This breakfast always works for me.

one thing i noticed was the egg white thing.
i used to do this too, but i think alot of the nutrients that you are looking for are being wasted when you throw away the yoke.
the yoke even contains lecithin (for those afraid of the misinformation about cholesterol in eggs).

well, the yolk contains all of the vitamins, minerals, and the lecithin mentioned earlier.
lecithin works as a fat emulsifier- that being that it breaks down fat and cholesterol to be used properly (rather than deposited on the arteries).
the yolks contain it, so all of the cholesterol garbage that was spewn forth about eggs several years ago is not only no longer considered vogue by mainstream nutrition, but research has shown that eating 3 whole eggs per day had no negative effect on cholesterol.
now, i would opt (and do) for the omega 3, free-range, organic eggs when possible. cost is a prohibitive factor, but if you can swing it, these eggs will offer a superior source of protein and vital nutrients.
and i am sorry, since this is a site about herbal teas, i seem to be in love lately with roobisos red teas...a little milk and honey (or stevia), and this is my little tea nirvana.
