I am on session 9 of the program. I have learned so much about myself and how my thinking habits which are my personality traits have led to the physical symptoms of anxiety that I experience. I've had less anxiety and have been working through situations that usually cause anxiety for me.
Now, I am tapering off xanax (anti-anxiety med) gradually which becomes tolerable over time and therefore you can get anxiety. Despite that, my body is use to taking the medication and I think now that I'm tapering off it and I'm starting to have some regression and it's worrying me. I want to be free of anti-anxiety medication and overcome anxiety. Has anyone gone through this and overcame this or is there anyone that has any advice/encouragement?
Progress and Regress
Insomnia was not really a problem for me until I started trying anti-anxiety medications. Some anti-anxiety meds caused insomnia and so benzos like Xanax helps with that. I had other symptoms of anxiety like nervousness, heart racing, shaking, etc. but not really sleep problems except when I took certain medications. Benzos are the only meds that help me with anxiety because other meds either cause more anxiety or don't help at all. Sorry, I probably gave more info. than needed.
