I find that the worst symptom of my anxiety is being dizzy. I have the fast heartbeats, the nervous, shaky feeling, but the dizziness is always around, it seems. Does anyone else experience this and does this go away as you progress on the program?

Oh My gosh. That is one of the worst for me also. I have to admit that the zoloft has really helped that but I still have times when I am just standing and the wave hits me even if only for a second, I HATE IT.

Hi Purple,
I as well have chronic dizziness with my anxiety it is 24/7 never stopping at the beginning of this program I could not even get out of bed except to bath and go to the washroom. I am on lesson 12 and now I am able to drive and to go out some places I even went to a dress fitting for my cousins wedding and took my dog to the vet etc... and alot more this week. I am telling you this because the tools this program has taught me has made me able to work through the dizziness and live my life and it is getting better so I hope you do the program because it has been a miracle in my life. If you ever want to talk just pm me anytime. I do totally understand that the dizziness is a very difficult symptom to deal with as well as the heart pulps which I had also and the disassociation so let me know how you are doing and welcome to the forums and the program.
God bless you on your journey
Mimi

Mine is mainly the week after my period. Once I start the birth control pills again after the sugar pill week. Can't find any other cause than hormones fluctuating around.

The best thing to do is just let it float by and do not apply a "secondary" fear to. Just feel it but don't give anymore power than that. Always remember that it passes!!!!!!!!! If you can do those things, it eventually tapers off and doesn't scare you anymore.

I have had anxiety and panic attacks for 3 years now, but I never experienced dizziness until last October when it kicked in very suddenly. It was nonstop for 3 months. I remember at Chrismas praying for God to just give me a good new year and the year to come, and it is really strange but after the new year it stopped.

I give credit to God and to my doctor who switched me from xanax to valium. Some could say that it was the drug change, but I think God had something to do with it too.

Now the dizziness, if it ever returns, is oh so slight, more like an off balance feeling. But I'm about to start Cymbalta (which I am scared of) and hopefully it will help even more!

I used to get really dizzy too...didnt know if I was having a heart attach or what. I went to my regular dr and he prescribed Klonopin, it relaxed me and the dizziness went away. Since then, I've gotton off the Klonopin and only used the relaxation techniques learned in this program. No more dizziness...Thank God! I totally know what you're going through.
