I was wondering if anyone else experiences severe nausea when they get excited or anxious. I have had panic attacks for 3 years and this is a new symptom that just started recently...if anyone does deal with this how do you make it go away or cope with it? Please help!

hey ashley,

i have been there before when my anxiety was bad. One of the best remedies I found was to suck on a peppermint. This helped me immensely take my mind off of things. One of the other things that helped me in the long run that i still use today is the use of an ipod or any mp3 player, i do not really know where I would be without it!

hang in there...it does get better!

I have not had severe nausea, but I have had an immediate loss of appetite and an aversion to food. I also upset my bowels when I get anxious, which makes the tummy uncomfortable. In addition to breathing, doing a relaxation session, and using the other program tools - you may want to appraoch your nausea as a pregnant woman would. I had "all day sickness" with both my pregnancies for the 1st trimester. Here is what I did to help myself handle it:
1. drinks lots of water
2. avoid hot showers and baths - stick to warm or cooler
3. Get some fresh air
4. start by eating saltine crackers and sipping 7up. If you can handle that, then eat something a little more nutritious.
5. Never go too long without eating. If you get really hungry it's too late because then you will feel weak and anxious. Eat several small meals and snacks all day long.
6. Never take any kind of a vitamin unless you have just eaten a meal.

I hope some of these ideas help you. Hang in there and breathe. These body symptoms can take over fast and that is why we are learning how to control them. I struggle all the time, but my motivation is wanting to feel good again. Take care!
