The relaxation tape seems to be 3 sessions repeated. Am I meant to do 3 in a row or one or two a day as I wish/can? I am not very good nor do I like journaling very much. Also the workbook seems like it's going to take a lot more time than I can find time for. Should I just go at a slower pace that I can manage?

I just did three RTs in a row today. There was no harm done, I guess there is no hard and fast rule. Somedays I've only done one and I'm still here. Regarding the homework I'm a pretty busy executive and somehow I do manage to find time to do the homework, it's really not that time consuming or extensive and the pay off is huge. I just look at it as mandatory for my recovery

Hi Marian, I was also puzzled about the Relaxation tape having the same 3 sessions. I called and asked the help line and they said that we are to just do one which is 15 minutes long. However, she said that some people like to fall asleep listening to the tape, so the repetition of it helps mainly because it takes sometimes longer than 15 minutes to fall asleep. I kinda like it because during the day, I'll take the 15 minutes and then get up and be on my way and at night I don't have to get up and replay it to finally fall asleep!! She also said that they will be changing the tape as many people are asking about that.
Seriously, since you are commenting about the workbook and your time, I would like you to ask yourself this question --- How important is it for you to heal? Setting priorities for how to spend your time for what is most important to you is what you should do. Ask yourself if for 15 weeks, can I put an hour aside to do something for me that might possibly make my life so much better for the rest of my years?
I wish you well on your journey and hope you find peace in your heart.

The journalling and workbook are so important. I made time to do this. It meant cutting other things out, but I need to put myself first. You need to do the same. Whatever it takes, make sure you read the lessons in the workbook and do the homework. It doesn't take as much time as your anxiety is leading you to believe.

it's not what you like to do. You do the journaling because it's what you NEED to do to get rid of the anxiety. As for the relaxation tape, the program says that you space the three sessions at least 3 hours apart. Don't do it back to back. You can do two of the sessions while you're up doing things around the house. Make sure you journal because it's one of the most important parts of the program. You get a lot of "eye-opening" moments while journaling. You will learn a lot about yourself that you didn't know before.
