Yes, I have had the tight chest and had a stress test done, among others, in January and was "fine". I use herbs and homeopathy to help keep it in check. Doesn't always work. Today has been a not so great day. I can't take much of a shock, like just the phone ringing, can start my heart thumping. That is so stupid, but a fact. I think I'm going to call a coach also. Sounds like a good idea. The breathing does help, but it doesn't last long...yet, anyway. Stay with it. I think this is the way to go. I'm really looking forward to getting on the other side of this!!

Me too,,,I've had the tight chest, shortness of breath, etc.....also had a stress test 8 mos ago and did great. I went through the program 2 years ago but I need to go through it again. Hang in there....somehow we'll all make it through. There is always hope :)

I am starting session 4 and have been getting better by the day so keep on doing the attacking anxiety materials as much as you can. I experienced intense panic attacks for years. I couldn't go to the store, out to breakfast with friends, church, drive to my brothers house, or many many other normal activities because I was sure I would feel those awful body symptoms, like a real tight chest/sternum area, tunnel vision, yellow spots zipping in front of my eyes, nausia, severe buzzing in my ears until I could hardly hear what was said by other people, dizziness, vertigo, tingling in my arms and legs, hands and feet, and so forth. I have for years had very uncomfortable chest sensations and have been thoroughly checked out several times by physicians for heart problems, there weren't any. If your physician has given your cardiovascular system a pass try to find a stretch or exercise that alleviates the chest tightness. Do you exercise? I've had a lot of problems with heartburn because of bad diet and anxiety, so changing my diet and learning to be less anxious, and getting aerobic exercise has really helped me not have so many problems with my throat down to my stomach. I also massage the lymph nodes in my chest which seem to help my whole chest relax. I believe most of my chest tightness was from bad digestion/reflux from the panic and eating foods that I don't digest very well. sometimes I would even get real pain down the very center of my chest from my adams apple to the sternum. I do hope this helps, I KNOW what you mean by "tight chest thing" and know you are not alone in experiencing this body symptom.
