I was doing really well on the program for about 4 weeks. I lost my job and depression took over, again. I was still doing the program in week 4 when I just gave up due to so many people turning me down for job after job. It has been two months since I even looked at the program or had a job. I just can't get motivated start the program again. How do you get the motivation to start when no one wants to hire you, money problems, and family sees the depression worsening.

Hi Emmi, Sorry to hear you're going through these hard times, but when things are the toughest, is when we need to pick ourselves up and turn to the things that can assist us. In your case, since the program had been working well for you, please begin again.

There are two choices here. Stay in your depression, fear, and worry, OR get up and do something positive about it.

Believe me, if you suffer this disorder, you are a capable, intelligent, sensitive, caring human being. With these traits, nothing can stop you from getting the job you want, feeling peace again, except YOU. Don't give up or give in. I've been where you are many times in my life. But, I always fought no matter how discouraged I was feeling. Each time I got better and started living life the way it was meant to be lived. I am currently on session 8 of this program. It is helping me very much, but the bottom line is that we have to work very hard to help ourselves. I feel this program is the final step to get a hold of my anxiety/panic and depression for good.

DON'T GIVE UP ON YOURSELF. You can do this. Yes, there are some obstacles right now, but the confidence you achieve through the program, will enable you to find the right job and the happiness you deserve. Someone absolutely wants to hire you. Keep looking and believing. It will come to you. Believe in yourself and others will believe in you!

Keep repeating to yourself that you can conquer this and you will.

Hi Emmi,

It's hard to motivate ourselves sometimes especially when we feel sad or depressed. I have weeks when I'm ready to try and conquer my anxiety and there are other times when I just want to lay on the couch and do absolutely nothing. You just need to remember that we hit bumps in the road sometimes and sometimes we are going to feel sad but a good week will come and when it does use that time to work on your depression. Your not a failure because you don't have a job right now, it's just temporary. Someone does want to hire you, you just haven't found them yet. Just take it one step at a time. It's tough to look at all your problems at once. It's too overwhelming. Work on your depression first and the others will fall into place. You will have more self confidence to get that job you want and once you get that job it will help with your money problems so on and so on. Good luck.

I completely understand, I was unemployed for almost a year and got to the point where I stopped looking because after you send out that many resumes and don't hear anything it is depressing! You really need to break the cycle but only you can do it. I'm on week 9 and honestly don't follow the program like you are supposed to but it's still helping. So don't feel overwhelmed by the program requirements, just pop a CD in.

I am in the same boat. I just want to get out there and use my degree. I know I'd be great but I can't seem to get an interview. Today I just started crying and feeling awful and frustrated. Well I know that's going to get me nowhere. So, what's the next step? What do I do?
