I blew through the first two weeks, since I've done this kind of work with my therapist for several years. But, am starting to get frustrated with sessions three and four. Maybe I'm just anxious? I'm not crazy about the relaxation tape. Nothing wrong with it, it just doesn't do it for me. I used it for two weeks, but have stopped.

AFter four sessions, I don't feel like I'm getting anything I haven't already gotten from ten years of cognitive behavioral therapy and lots of Al Anon meetings.

But, I'm going to hang in there, because I don't have the freedom from anxiety and panic that is talked about.

Also, I'm a clergy woman and I believe there are unique challenges in this profession. Any other clergy out there?

I'm not clergy, but I can tell you that hanging in there will have its benefits. I wanted to 'ditch' the whole thing when I started getting sick of Lucinda's voice (talk about negative thoughts!), but I'm definitely better for doing the program than if i hadn't done it.

Try putting the relaxation CD on while you get ready in the morning so that it is background noise - I found that helped me to get more 'into' it.
