Hello all,
I actually have great idea for those having problems with sleep. First I went out and bought a heated matress pad with dual remotes. My hubby can set his side however he wants and I can. Being warm makes me sleep great. (I too was having serious sleeping issues)ANyhow, if you dont want to make that purchase one year for Christmas I made everyone a heated corn bag. Its simple, you get a nice flannel material, get some corn (NOT POPCORN). sew aorund the edges to make a pocket, fill little over half with corn. Then you sew the end and presto! You throw it in your microwave for about 4:00 minutes, depending on your microwave), and it will last hours. If it starts to cool off, shake it up. There will be a little moisture until the corn dries out but it will go away. I put it in my bed at night before I get in and it will heat it right up! Again, warmth haelps me feel cozy and comfy. Just a thought. If nothing else, use it to relieve stress on the parts that feel tense! Enjoy! OH, sorry, I also listen to the relaxation tape before bed and when I wake up!! These bags were a HUGE hit for Christmas and people are still raving about them. You dont have to worry about shutting them off either for all you OCD folks like me!

I love this thread! One thing I do when I am feeling nervous is to chew a piece of gum-slowly-and concentrate on keeping it on one side of my mouth. Just distracts me from the panicky feelings. Also doing a little "mini-meditation" where while sitting in a chair i repeat a calming word over and over to myself. Hope this helps!

some great tips on getting to sleep. I also have issues with not sleeping. I start with a warm or I should say a hot bath. Get in bed with heating pad and it kills me they have timers that shut off so I wake up when it is cold again and restart. So what kind of corn are you using in these bags like hog corn?
