I was on it in 2003 but it didn't do much for me. I later learned the dose I was on was rather small and not really enough to affect me.

Yes! I take it and LOVE it. ;) I had a bad experience with an anti-depressant and became med phobic. I was talked into Busbar and told it was strictly anti-anxiety and worked in a different area of the brain. Took me a while to work my nerve up to take it. I started at 5 mg a day. Then 5mg morn and eve. I had some vivid dreams (good kind) for the first two wks. Other then that, there were no side effects. My panic attacks stopped about a wk into it. 10mg a day is low. They recommend 15mg to 40mg a day. From what I understand, it works to calm the nerveous system without messing with your seratonin levels. The idea is, if you stop the panic, which depletes the seratonin, it will have a chance to build back up and level out. Great stuff. I give it two thumbs way up! ;)

Buspar, was my worst, I lost 20 pounds in a month, could not sit still even taking atavan Benzo. ( spelling) and zoloft, so many bad effects for me,( 14yrs ago ) finally i read up on it and told the doctor what was going on, I stop it right away and felt much better, with it my anxiety hit the roof, i know many people don't do good on it and some do......... its all are chemistry............ Good luck........

Curtstl7,
Hi there!! I am on Buspar, been on it for a month now and it is my very first anti-anxiety drug. I have an extremely low tolerance for anything even aspirin, and the Buspar as been working for me. For the first couple of days I felt real loopy and drunk like. That wore off and I started to get stomach aches for about three days then I was fine. I was taking 7.5 mg twice a day, but because of the side affects my doc lowered it to 7.5 mg once a day. I also found that for about a week I had trouble sleeping so my doc gave me Ambien, I only needed to take it twice, and now I am okay. But everyone is diifferent, I want to try to have kids soon and my doc said that Buspar is the pnly safe drug for me to take. So everyone has different effects to different drugs, I would try it see if it works and hey it might and some of your panic and anxiety may decrease. If you have any questions always talk to your doc and you can always talk to me, best of luck to and all of us. Yesterday I started to get the syptoms of another great anxiety attack and immediately came here and listened to my relaxtion tape, guess what.....IT WORKED!!! I talked myself out of it!! Do you have the tapes?
