Paying Attention
Does anyone have a problem paying attention? I can read something and immediately after I'm finished you could ask me "What was that about" and I would have hard time telling you. I can only remember things that I'm really interested in. Lately that seems like only sports or anything to do with Adriana Lima(superb). I'm wanting to back to school and want to enroll soon, but fear that I could be wasting time and a whole lot of $$$. If this doesn't improve I don't know if I will even try. I really don't want to read textbook 50x just to pass a class, but I will if I have to. Does anyone know about adderol? Will it work for someone with anxiety? Does anyone have this problem or a sollution?
HI Cap,
Oh yes, I can relate, especially when I am in the midst of a depressive episode or stressed out about something. However, I recently went on an SNRI and it seems to be helping a bit. Our brains are powerful but cannot think about all of our anxiety, stresses, depression, negative obsessive thoughts AND work or whatever we are doing. However, I will say I find now not being in school I have a hard time concentrating, I found school to be awesome for my mind, stimulation and gave me something to think about, mind you, be sure you will enjoy the education you are getting, try the job first! but school was wonderful for me, less anxiety b.c. I had something worth while to focus on..!
I dont know about adderol other than it is powerful. Be careful! concentration comes from within, when you make a commitment or a decision just tell youself no matter what you'll be ok, everything can be fixed, its just money, education is NEVER a bad investment! just try to TRUST your decisions, this will take the stress off- I believe confusion with decisions comes from a lack of trust in it and why? you are the only one who isnt trusting it! thats easy to fix, life doesnt have to be hard! (I am learning this for the first time now)
I suggest you get Lucinda's book from Panic to Power, it talks a lot about concentration, perception, guilt and decision making. You could also talk to your doc and see if a med or ssri would help!
please keep me posted and PM if you ever want!
Best Wishes!
p.s. concentration is also a skill, start 'training' yourself by reading and then writing a summary, stop and tune out all thoughts for 5 minutes and concentrate on one thing- even get a coloring book and start coloring and practise not thinking but concentrating on the lines-
