I think it's terrible that American's don't get free health care. I see it as an inherent human right to recieve care that will prolong your life! In Britain we have the NHS (National Health Service) where any treatment at all (Be it surgical, psychiatric) is given for free! You do have to wait 3 months to see a trained Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, but you can see a psychiatrist or a counselor right away.

It upsets me that America, such a civilized, developed country, does not have this!!

If any American came here on vacation, and had a panic attack, or broke a leg, you would get treated for free. You would not get asked your name or where you were from, you would just get treated!

I have read posts on here about people spending thousands of $$$'s on treatment. It just makes me feel you should move to Britain for a while!! ;)

Just an interesting point I wanted to raise, and not directly related to anxiety!

Hi Spunky,

I agree with you- it would be nice to have health care provided for free. I think that the problem gets to be that some people abuse the system and this creates long waits for needed attention. Our whole complication in the US is that insurance makes things difficult- that is if you have any. For myself I've never had too many problems getting treatment but then again, I avoid going to the doctor like the plague! LOL!
