Had an argument with my hubby last night over the remote then it escalated to a one hour power play and hurtful words flew back and forth.
Then I was stuck in traffic and just BARELY made it to work on time. (I will get fired if I am late) SO I have a lot of anxiety symptoms that have already surfaced.
Then my mother just called to say she has a doctors appt today and I have to drive her!!
Any Recommendations to ease the edge off?
I am on Session 3 right now and I am trying to be positive by giving myself positive affirmations and think positively but I am having a hard time.
Any recommendations to keep the anxiety away?
I had tried the breathing exercises and I didn't leave the house mad at my hubby. I gave him a kiss and hug -we kinda sorta made up.
Thanks So much!
Today Not Starting out Good
Deb,
First take a deep breath and tell yourself it's ok to start over from this minute on. The whole day doesn't have to go to pot- make the best of the rest of it.
Tell hubby (and I wouldn't say this if I hadn't had the same experience as you yesterday) that you're sorry the disagreement got out of hand and you want to put it behind you. Seal with another hug and kiss when you see him.
Maybe you can grab an inspirational book for the days when you go with mom to the doc to help keep your thoughts positive.
Good luck to you- Bev

Thank You Bev-
I will try to think positively and enjoy the day.
It's just a hassle getting to work and then I have to leave early to spend the evening in the doctor's office- ACK!
OK I will try to replace these negative thoughts with patience and positive thoughts. I am on Session 3 so this will be good practice.

LOL SO true!! He wouldn't give it up and it was
getting late so I just wanted to relax in bed
and listen to my relaxation cd- he got mad because
I took the remote and shut it off. He told me I
should ASK him first if it's ok. UH I don't think
so! OK I'll at least WARN him that I am going to
be turning off the TV.

Deb,
I am reading a book by Joyce Meyers called "In Pursuit of Peace," and she talks about the rushing to work syndrome. I stay at home now but made my days hellish by running late in the mornings. She really ate my lunch on the topic b/c she was exactly right in saying that we do it to ourselves when we could get up 15 minutes earlier and it would make all the difference in the world. The main point was that we let it set the tone for the rest of the day, so instead of happening just a crappy morning, we have a crappy day. Once in a while, we are going to run late, but you can't help that. Bev
