I bought the program about two years ago and have yet to finish it. I will make it through about the fifth tape and then I start feeling better and quit working on the sessions. Needless to say about once every three or four months the symptoms come back and I begin the vicious cycle all over again. I get scared to be alone. I don't want to go anywhere. I begin the "what if thinking". I start telling myself that nothing is going to work and that I will be on medication for the rest of my life even though that is not working very well either. You all know the drill. What advise could you give me as to finishing the program. I am driving my husband crazy. He is so outgoing and full of life and I really feel as if I hold him back. My best friend lives about 2 hours away and wants us to come visit this weekend but I keep telling myself I will be sick the whole time and keep trying to come up with excuse as to why I don't want to go. Please help!

llmn...Please read some of my postings on the threads!!! You really need to stick to the program...Ask yourself..Do I attend to spend the rest of my life feeling like this???

Life is much too short to spend living in fear!!! Please commit yourself to do the program!!!!

This will NOT go away on it's own!!! I should know, since, I spent 21 years of my life living in a "panic attack"....I was agoraphobic, also, which was accompanied by depression!!!

I wish I had the program all of those years ago. It sure wouldn't just have sat around. I would have used it, and not wasted all those years of my life!!!

Ms. T Bones,
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I read some of your post and I love the one about "give me your best shot". I am going to use that today.

I really do believe that it is okay to start where you left off, but, you also need to refresh yourself a little.

I do NOT believe that you have really learned to replace those "negative thoughts" with more realistic "positive ones"..

I suggest you practice this daily!!!!
You can wear a rubber band on your wrist, and flip it, each time you have a negative thought!!!

Make sure to check in on your thoughts throughout the day. Put up a stop-sign in your mind's eye. Replace that negative thought with one which makes you feel more content, safe, warm, and loved!!!

There is an "inner child" which lives within each and every one of us. The "adult us" is more than capable of comforting and taking care of that "inner child" who has been left behind...

You can get out some old pictures of yourself, as a child growing up, so, you can refresh your memory on what you looked like at various ages...

Allow the adult you to hold that inner child close to you. Tell it, that it is safe, warm, and loved. Comfort it as you would some one you love dearly!!!!

I pray this helps...God Bless
