I am new to this program and I am technically on Session 4 but these last 3 or 4 days anxiety and panic attacks have owned me. It just showed me that this program isn't a "quick fix", but something I will have to practice and be aware of my entire life. Reading all of the symptoms of the beginning article in this thread really hit home. At this exact moment in time I am an absolute mess!! I'm afraid I have this disease, or that illness and that I'm going to faint, pass out, have a heart attack, not see my family grow up, etc...I have been tearing myself apart for 3 or 4 days now!! I was told today that my blood pressure is on the high side and all I heard in my head was "OMG, I am really dying!" which is absolutely ridiculous but scary none-the-less. I know that I am doing this to myself and best of all, I know that I am going to be ok. Anyhow, just wanted to vent, thanks for reading.
Welcome Palouse. I think you will find the program very insightful and helpful. You are right it's not an overnight deal .
I am glad you vented. We all have at one time or another
Good days and bad days seem to come and go. And the bad/anxious days less and less. But we all have em. Just have to give yourself an extra measure of TLC on those days.
Take care

Had a great deal of these all at once last summer. I've dealt with sorrow before but this physical terror was new. It lasted for weeks.
I've read about how some people can heal their own body with their mind. After seeing the pain that the mind can inflict, the control that it has over the body, I believe it. I can't wait to harness it to do good instead of evil.

This post is a keeper. Maybe print out a copy of that list and when we catch ourselves falling into one of these we can remind ourselves "it's only anxiety, this too shall pass" that is ofcourse assuming you have had a complete physical and check up and blood work done to make sure it's not your heart or thyroid or adrenal glands etc. But once those all have been cleared. You will have know the culprit. And also when you get to what you conside your "Safe place" or "safe person" they stop. That's how you know it's anxiety.
