Man of music,
How are you? I am sorry to hear about your dad. I read it on another post. I found this one to reply on. Every time I come here lately it has been down. I hope your doing okay with all that is in your life right now. We are all hear for you! Also your in many peoples prayers! :D
I have not seen my painters!!! I would have never expected them to drop out like this, you would think with this economy people would be pounding on your door happy-ly ! It has been super cold, and every day we get another 3-4 inches of snow so I have not been actively looking for a new painter. If it stays much longer I may do it myself!!! Cabin fever is getting to me!!!LOL...

I'm sure your project has been put on the back burner as well. Spring is coming, new life, new beginnings, so we will pick up the projects when the days lengthen. My furnace broke in January! We were with out heat for almost 2 weeks! ( We do have a wood stove for back up heat, and lucky we did have that.) It was a big part- the heat exchanger. It is only 7 year old furnace, and the part was warranted my company wanted to soak me big for the labor! I entertained the thought of replacing the furnace. After all was said and done, I had it fixed at half the cost they quoted me. They ended up doing the repairs as well as THEY never sent in my warranty papers! At least they admitted their wrong, ( they had no choice? ) But all is well, and my furnace works!

Very cool thread. I've read only the first few posts by Jamie.

Tomorrow I am taking a HUGE step. I am meeting a woman at our storage facility and we are going to develop a plan to sell all the contents of my old home on EBay. This is a huge project and will mean that I have to open boxes of items that have been locked away in storage. Memories and storage. A huge metaphor, but also a huge step forward...

This going to be so hard, I wishing you the best as you go through your storage. We are helping our widow lady right now with a moving party packing up all her belongings as she needs to get out of her house. So she is going through what you will be going through soon, J. Paislee

Paislee, I am so sorry for your widow friend. I fear her experience will be sadder then mine. Do you know what a gift you are giving your friend? Imagine, a moving party! Lovely.

Well, I took the huge step and went into my storage units. I hired a mother/daughter team to photograph everything and sell all the contents of my home on ebay.
We are estimating this project will take approx. 6 months. I negotiated her fee to what seems fair, and offered her an incentive bonus if she can wrap this project up sooner.
I opened one box and cried like a baby. It was just a snowman cookie jar and all these memories came rushing at me and I started to cry.

She will be opening all of the other boxes in the future, and I will just determine the items I want to keep. (my daughter's favorite dolls, certain meaningful books etc)

This is a huge, huge, huge step. I feel relieved. Now I work the night shift tonight. Another huge step. Getting a job. :)
