I am having the problem with going to my parents house now as well. I grew up there my whole life and it is only a mile away. I was agoraphobic at their house last time and now can't get out of my house that is only a mile away. Makes no sense to me as I would think that I would percieve it is a safe place since I did once before.

Hi Hope! I enjoy your comments and the others as well. MandiJ--I like your success story of overcoming your Agora... you are doing great to overcome your panic attacks so often. Are they full blown panic attacks, because when I first experienced mine, I was in a state that I didn't want anyone seeing me as I would be screaming in fear.

But sense I've been here and have Lucinda's CDs I feel the sensations that probably started my panic attacks, but they aren't going into full panic break through. I have been taking Remeron, but I'm on my second day of weaning off of it. So here's hoping I don't get into a full panic attack.

I'm going to attempt to take a "shower" instead of being safe and taking a bath, I haven't been able to do that for a months! I'll be back. ;) Paislee

Hi Pauly,

I totally agree with you about needing the car as a means of escape not control. Even when my husband takes my car, I ask him to leave the keys to his car - just in case. He used to get mad at me but he is more understanding about it now.

Seems like agoraphobia comes in many different forms. My heart goes out to each and every person here who struggles with it. I do believe we will all overcome this - one baby step at a time. ;)
Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Silverlining you are right about one baby step at a time. It seems like I will never get better but I know I will with determination.
