Yeah, I know after all the BS it seems unreal, but the HR guy called just exactly 5 minutes before my Simpsons.

I have pretty much come out of my shock. Van Halen videos on YouTube helped. ;)

I prefer next Monday as the start date, but if it's Wednesday I am ready to rock.

Thanks for the invite. I just posted a VH video.

BTW: My wife agreed with you and manofmusic about advertising the start date.

Homer: Hmm, donuts. ;)

I (finally) got cleared by the background check company. I start work tomorrow @ 8:30! :)

I am back to feeling a little shocked in a good way. Fifteen months of no work is finally over. Soon, I will be able to be financially sound. I can start saving for my business’ advertising.

I am going to the park--for the last time--with my SEALs book now. Then I get my hair cut.

Don't forget to get to bed earlier tonight. Put out your clothes tonight and make a lunch. It's waaaaaaaaaay cheaper than eating out. Oh it's a proud proud day Chuck !

I just can't believe it ! You'll have to tell us how it went. Wow, I'm making it sound like your first day of school, aren't I ?

We'll all be thinking of you tomorrow ! Go get 'em !!!!!!!!!

Thank you, manofmusic.

I enjoyed my last park reading, got scalped, and had a beer. ;)

We can definitely can combine our job complaints. :D

Most definitely on that early to bed suggestion. It's almost 8:30 PM; I will be asleep in an hour--hour and a half. Even though I know how to get to the office from the interview in August, that was mid-morning. Now it's real time. I always like going to a new place early the first day or two new that way I can hone down the subway time, walk, etc.

Yes, Dad: my clothes are all out :D :p . I just got to put on the cuff links and shine the shoes.

Once I get the lay of the office land and what my next few days are like, brown-bagging is definitely in order. My wife makes a mean peanut butter and jelly sandwich. :D

Yeah, I can't believe it either. This day has finally come. Thank God!

If I am not on the forum for a while, I am just readjusting to my "new" life.

Thanks again!!!

It's only the second day, but it has been a very easy transition not only returning to sales, but taking the subway/working in Manhattan.

For the past ten years, I had been working in customer service in Westchester county. This involved taking one or two buses.

So far, it's like I just continued from 2000. I do though miss the much less crowded Westchester city of White Plains.

Like I was telling my wife: between the new sales techniques I've learned, and the company's product line, I feel extremely confident I will do well. I feel good about my manager. He's definitely not a micro-manager, which I can't stand. I met the top dog today--the district director and he seems like a good guy too. Most of my territory are already customers, I just need to upsell and cross sell them (thus less cold-calling). Hours are 8:30-5. Health benefits on Day 31. 40-50 minutes commute each way.

Things are good.
