In Proverbs 3:5 (NAS) it reads:
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; And do not lean on your own understanding.
Hi Searunner,

It's your choice. You can have your ears trickled with half truths, false teachings, and well meaning folks taking the broader road, and path to destruction. Or you can pick up your own bible and learn to go through the narrow gate for the way to the truth the way and the life to salvation and eternal life.

BTW, there is much written in the Bible about what is and was isn't an abomination, you might want to make use of a Bible search engine such as this one:

http://bible.oneplace.com/sear...ible&translation=nas

Leviticus 18:22 in the Complete Jewish Bible reads as follows:

Leviticus 18:22 CJB
"'You are not to go to bed with a man as with a woman; it is an abomination."

The books of Proverbs are a really good place to start acquiring wisdom since it was mostly composed by the world's wisest man; Solomon, and this is what he says, through divine inspiration, about wisdom and reproof:

Proverbs 1:7 CJB
The fear of ADONAI is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

Proverbs 4:7 CJB
The beginning of wisdom is: get wisdom! And along with all your getting, get insight!

Proverbs 9:10 CJB
The fear of ADONAI is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of holy ones is understanding.

Proverbs 13:18 CJB
Poverty and shame are for him who won't be taught, but he who heeds reproof will be honored.

Proverbs 12:1 NAS
[Contrast the Upright and the Wicked] Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, But he who hates reproof is stupid.

Proverbs 15:10 NAS
Grievous punishment is for him who forsakes the way ; He who hates reproof will die.

The Bible is the source of truth, and full and truthful search on all matters pertaining to any of life's questions can be found there. Don't stop to find a scripture that suits your need, you must accurately divide the word of God, and for that you need the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Anybody and including the devil can use scripture inaccurately. If you wish to step into the role of a teacher, you need to do so with fear and trembling. Please read Mathew 4:1-11 to see that Satan can quote scripture improperly:

http://www.biblegateway.com/pa...04:1-11&version=NASB

Matthew 18:6 CJB
and whoever ensnares one of these little ones who trust me, it would be better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck and be drowned in the open sea!

Mark 9:42 CJB
"Whoever ensnares one of these little ones who trust me -- it would be better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck and be thrown in the sea.

Luke 17:2 CJB
It would be to his advantage that he have a millstone hung around his neck and he be thrown into the sea, rather than that he ensnare one of these little ones.

If you lead someone or anyone, wrongly giving the superficial appearance of truth, you are teaching falsely. Those seeking to lead any little one improperly or falsely, or with your own understanding, or with partial truths; need to ponder just what it is you are doing.

I pray you lean not on your own understanding and continue your search for truth, found in the Bible for the answers that you are earnestly searching for, and not what others believe to be the truth for: broad is the way to destruction, but narrow is the gate to the truth, the way, and salvation that leads to eternal life.

Good night.
All for His praise, glory and the joy it gives Him.

Hugs, In His Love >:D<

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

I appreciate all of your comments. However, I'm beginning to regret posting this. It was never my intention to cause so much disagreement between all that have responded. I don't want to be the source of so much angst.

I have taken all of your advice to heart. Let's let the rest be between God and me.

Many thanks,
Jamie

Hey searunner,
I skimmed the above posts, and I encourage you to still post questions, thoughts, concerns etc. Regardless of personal beliefs this website is for everyone.

As for your question, a wise pastor once said, it doesn't matter if we're 4 inches under water, or 4feet under water, were still underwater, and we all need air to breathe.

Water being sin, the depth of water being "humans own labeling of degree of sin"
and Air being God.

Bottom line, we're all sinners, we will all fail, God loves us anyway, he created us, and we're all imperfect, just that gods grace forgives us over and over and over again.

I hope to see more of your posts on this forum, much peace and prayers to all of us,
AlaskanAmber

AlaskanAmber great post and very true.

Searunner, sorry if I contributed to any angst on here. We all have a bunch of egos here, I'll be the first to admit.

Have a beautiful evening and God bless everyone.
Shif.

Thanks AlaskanAmber. That's a very good metaphor.

Shif, no worries. You've always had thoughtful posts.
