I haven't read the beginning of this post, as I wasn't sure you guys were around! :D Merry Christmas to you all!

I'm with you guys on the sweets. Dear Sister sent me 2lb box of chocolates! So I finally indulged in some chocolates that have almonds in it. If it is the sugary feelings, then my anxiety goes up! :? But anything with omega 3's in them helps out. I also have not sent out any Christmas cards and I want to keep my teeth too!

I've had my older sister here for about 10 days to see our dentist, she the one with all the problems of collecting and such. Anyway, I didn't know she even had dentures. So we've helped her get more teeth pulled and new dentures made. Very stressful and yet good to have a relative visit that knows where I come from and know the history of our family dynamics. She is the one suffering the most from her mistakes and nervousness. She is the one that put me onto Lucinda and sent me her CDs, it is too bad she isn't capable of using them herself. Very sad...

Well, I got my Christmas shopping done yesterday, the rest of it. Things are real simple this year, I'm using some gift cards and cutting back. Since we have to wait for others to pay us and taxes and licensing fees are always due this month.

I still have some anxiety, and even went on an AD, but when the Doc upped it, it became to unbearable, I was a nervous wreck, head, neck and shoulders ached, I'm assuming from the energy producing AD. I don't know...so I can back to the lower dose and on some days didn't take the dosage. I only know that activity, sunshine and omega 3 foods keep me okay. But the short days are not my friend.

I still have issues with DH and DS, but I've come a long way since last year!

Now I'm going to see the beginning of this posting... Have a Happy New Year too! Paisleegreen

Hi Forever Young- I just read about the lost of your Mother, I'm very sorry and know that it is hard during this time of the year. So I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I've got caught up on Mano's and THH's postings... I still don't have my Master Bathroom done either. Remember that was an issue last year! LOL! We did pick out a marble that I like, but have not bought the rest of the needed amount. DD doesn't like the color, but it isn't her bathroom and the tile I really, really like is more expensive!

My husband grew up in the house his Grandfather built so it is very cold in the winter and heated by coal. Finally, DH was able to get his coal furnace operating the way it use too. It needed some repairs that he didn't know about until my FIL at to go into the hospital due to blood clots. Now that DH has found the problem which was a bad fan and such, which DFiLaw had been keeping the problems to himself, meaning noone is allowed to touch his furnace, it is now fixed and heating the house as it is suppose to. No more using electric heaters and freezing all winter for my FIL. Whew!

I also have had a nice surprise in that I have a new critter, a new/used dog has entered my life and has given me much joy and also forcing me to have to get out of bed or out of my comfort zone to take care of him. I had lost my dear dog a few years ago and had missed him very much. And only lately started looking for a replacement, but to get a puppy of the same breed would cost some money. So I had a surprise from the pound which acquired the breed I like. So he is wonderful and getting along with my family and grandkids.

Well, this is all for now, gotta finish wrapping the last of my presents. P

Paislee ! - Congratulations on the new puppy ! I've often thought about getting one, but the work that's required is a lot. One day I'll get brave and get one. I didn't know that many people still used coal furnaces. When my house was first built (1927) there was a coal furnace and a door on the side of the house to shovel the coal into the basement. Now it's a regular furnace. Stick to your guns on the colour of the bathroom tile. Like you said, it's your bathroom.

Forever Young ! - One thing this year taught me was to not rush my days away. I used to wish Spring here quick. Now I enjoy every day on the way to Spring.

THH - Where are you ?????? LOL

Tomorrow, I decided to go and rent the tile cutter. I'll cut all of the floor tiles tomorrow and hopefully get the cutter back before they close at night. I need the bigger cutter because the tiles are 13" x 13" and they are a thick porcelan. They are a darker brown colour with different lighter colours running thru it. It looks good along side of the wood floor in the bedroom. As I cut them, I'll do a dry fit. Later this week or maybe in the new year, I'll mix the tile cement and get them put down. I just want to get the cutting done tomorrow.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and remember to take the time to live fully each day in between Christmas and New Years.

Ok, so I get highjacked by this guy in a little red suite, He wants me to care for his reindeer! Something about this really big night and the one little guys nose won't glow. Sooo I got things all straight and they all left in a big hurry. Mean while I had to walk home. LOL....

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone! I trust that Santa was good to everyone!

Manofmusic,
You crazy guy...going shoping so close to the holiday. LOL... I did too...LOL... But I got caught behind every old person who should not be driving. We all drove very safe making sure to hug the curb in the turns and applying the break at any speed over 40 mph. Of coarse we drove faster when there were times to pass.
I actually went to Walllmart and the parking lot was so full I ended up leaving and finnished my shopping at the local drug store! LOL....

Gosh our weather is just beautiful today. Sunny and bright 40*s. Very fall like, and I love it! LOL...

I'm happy to hear you have this time off! YIPPY.... Did Santa fill your stocking with fun things? I'm glad you are thinking of your project again too. I had a guy I'll call "LOONIE" out to fix my chimney. All the morter had cracked I was getting some leaks up stairs. So Loonie came over gave me a bid on how much to repair. We agreed and he started to next day. Really fun guy in his 40's who moves like a squirl. Hes up down here and there while talking to you at the same time. He found a bunch more things that needed a mason ( Him). Well long......story short he still working here! LOL... Funny thing is he is like gum on your shoe. Ya can't get rid of him! His work is very good, but he comes and puts a layer of plaster on and leaves. Comes back another day skips a few and this simple repair has grown into a 3 week marithon. He still has to put the water sealer on. I imagine him being here another couple weeks! I can't be the only one enjoying home repairs???? Tear into that bathroom!!! LOL... What color tile are you using?

LOL...............White Christmas was grrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttttttttt! dooo doo doood doooooo. Thanks man for sticking that one in my head! LOL....

Paislee, I love puppies! They really are a ton of work, but you can't buy a better friend!

Forever Young, Each season is here for a reason. Winter is here to rest, regroup. Enjoy the quietness of winter. I hope you had a nice Christmas too.

Hi all! THH Very funny story about the reindeer and Santa's sleigh, I'm glad you helped him out. ;) :P

Thanks for the cudos on the new "puppy", he really is a full grown dog, about 6 1/2 years old but due to his size some one might think he is a pup. So he is all trained...just a bit shy in some areas due to being on the "lam" or is it "lamb" for I don't know, but enough to be brought to the animal shelter and not called for by the previous owners. The dog had no collar and no inquires. I'm thinking an elderly person owned him as he seems to have been spoiled and yet loved and yet disciplined that bothers me. But he knows he is mine...and makes himself at home.

Forever Young, I'm glad that you are taking it easy and Mano gave you some good advice. Mano-glad to hear you are working on you bathroom. I'm going to stick with the marble. It is similar to how the house was first built, but with real marble not the manmade stuff, so the colors remind me a little bit of how the house was originally, which was custom built, but was going out of style and things were worn out.

Yes, my father in law's home was built in the 30's and has a coal bin. It is not insulated at all, except in some remodeled areas. So coal is the cheapest way to heat this house.
I"m gotta sign off.

THH !!!! So....that's what you people do in Ohio, eh ? LOL Make funny videos ? I take it they are the newscasters ? I completely forgot that The Christmas Story house is there. VERY cool ! STUCK ! STUCK! STUCK ! LOL Never lick a cold metal pole ! LOL

I DID IT !!!!!!!!!! I rented the tile cutter last night. I set it all up, plugged in the water pump, attached all the cords and got it ready for this morning. I woke up at 9:00 and grabbed a bite to eat. I started cutting tiles at 9:15 this morning and by the time I brought the cutter back to the Depot, it was 3:30. I'm really sore right now. I set up the cutter by the front door. The cutter weight about 100 lbs. I couldn't carry it up the stairs to the bedroom. Out of all of the tiles, 35 of them had to be cut. I turned it into an exersice marathon. I walked up and down the stairs 40 times. 35 times for each tile that had to be cut and 5 more times for the tiles I screwed up ! LOL I'm glad I bought extras. I did the dry fit. I haven't cemented them to the floor yet. I layed them down to make sure the cut ones fit. If I do say so myself, I did a pretty good job !!!!! :D

Did I say that I'm really sore now ? My legs feel like cement. It's a "good sore" though. It's a feeling of accomplishment kind of sore. I'm going to sleep like a baby tonight.

Tomorrow, I'm going to channel surf all day long. I say that, but I made a bit of a to do list. Back to the Depot for moulding for around the bathroom window and floor. My work never ends !

I'm heading out to the country for NYE. There will be about 30 people there. I don't know most of them. I hope the panic stays away. It's a pretty big house, so if the panic shows it's ugly head, I can walk away for a bit. I will do the breathing and I will focus on something positive. Maybe others there have panic attacks. Maybe I'm not the only one !

I don't go back to work until Tuesday, but today I was thinking about work. I hate it when I do that. I was thinking about the stuff that was going on while I wasn't there....did I do my work right before I left for the holidays, did something bad happen etc etc. I need to stop that.......easier said then done.

As of right now, I have 3 days left for my holidays. I'm going to make the most of them. I'm going to make a point of truly relaxing. For NYE, all I have to do is show up. No big deal. Tomorrow, I could grab the newspaper and go down to the river and read it. I could stay here and turn into a couch potato until I have to leave. I could go to the river for my walk.

Time to write out my resolutions for 2012.

2011 was a very stressful year for me. I need 2012 to be a great year. I need it to be a year that I take care of myself. I know that I always say that, but this has to be the year I do it.....get the extra pounds off, exercise, take time to really relax......maybe go back to night school to learn something different.

I hope that everyone here has a great 2012. I hope that life treats us really good and when it doesn't, we have the strength and courage to press on. I hope there are way more sunny days than rainy days.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
