Forgot to mention- For those that get the acid reflux at night try sleeping on your left side. Sleeping on your right side can make it worse since the stomach is located on the right. This works, try it.

When I had my barium xRay they said everything is normal with me, but my anxiety talks and wants me to believe the doctors are idiots and aren't smart enough to find it. I am glad I am getting better with this anxiety and have learned to calm down about my health. I have to trust that the doctors go through all that schooling and they have to have learned something.

SugarMama I am right there with you and not necessarily on the anxiety side of things.

My anxiety has centered around my heart and the never ending chest pain, no matter how many tests I have had, I swear the doctors are missing something.

I never really worried much about my reflux though now it gives me a little hope that perhaps some of my pains have been caused by it.

Engine2,
I read all your posts, I went through almost everything you did including the medications.

I know it sounds way too simple, it did to me also at first, but try the apple cider vinegar mix with baking soda & water. It really works!

2 Tble spoons Apple Cider Vinegar (natural unfiltered)
1/4 Tea spoon Baking Soda
8 oz of water

Take twice a day on an empty stomach.

You will be amazed how fast your GERDs dissapears!

I had GERDs for over a year and it cleared up after the first day of this treatment.

I know this sounds too good to be true but what have you got to lose? I can't hurt you, in fact it's good for your stomach linning.

I have suffered with GERD for a little over a year now and could find no relief with Omeprazole which my doctor prescribed to me. I read online on natural cure website to drink Aloe Vera juice, not GEL, juice because of it's healing abilities for abrasions outside the body, it suggested it works for healing inside the body. I take 2-4oz before every meal for about a week now and I feel WORLDs better. It tastes nasty but when you're in pain like I was, frustrated, terrified. You'll try anything. It's $7 a gallon at Walmart! Just make sure you dont drink the gel or you will get the runs! Hehe. :) Try it. What do you have to lose?

Omeprazole doesn't work for me either, and so far, the stuff that works would have to be apples and ginger tea. But I still had to consult my doctor about that before I went ahead and used it as a regular solution to my acid reflux. And even then I had to make sure that it was really acid reflux I was feeling.

I also hear that the recurring pain is pretty normal, and instead of the so-called "official" remedies, some short-term pain remedies may be better. There's a short list posted on gastroenterologists.com, I think.
