Re: Growing up !
SoWhatIf - Thank you ! It's still a work in progress (as I think I will be the rest of my life), but I've noticed others that haven't moved on from it and I see how they are and I'm glad I've taken steps to cope and move on so I can live the rest of my life as best I can. Right now, mom is my main priority. She getting excellent care where she is. She really likes it there and has made many friends her age.
THH - I don't mind going to the dentist. I go twice a year whether I need it or not. I hope to keep my teeth for a lifetime.
The clear lights looks nice. Last year I did clear and blue. It was pretty cool. My shopping is all done. I usually wait until Dec 23rd (like most men do), but this year I decided to get it out of the way. I'm looking forward to Christmas on in the county.
Do you get stressed out at Christmas ? I'm going to make a point of watching my breathing and and staying away from the baked goods. I usually overdose on sugar and I end up panicking. I may have a beer or two, but I'm going to keep a mug of water with me and drink that all night. It's been a stressful enough year. I don't need to add more during the holidays.
This is that time of year that we get busy at work. The boss turns into a crank and all of the worker bees get fed up. I'm going to do my best not to get frustrated. I'm going to go in with a "whatever happens happens" attitude. I'm not going to let the stupidity of one person rule the way I feel. I've been doing that for too long. If this year has taught me anything , it's that life's too short for people with attitudes like that. I need to look after my health both mentally and physically and I will take that into 2012 and beyond. I don't want those Monday morning blues anymore.

Manofmusic,
I do stress out going to the dentist. I have had tons of dental work, I'm not sure exactly what freaks me out about going but I do. I worry about loosing them? Small rooms, someone in my mouth,Cost, bad dentistry. I plan on keeping them too, and it was just a cleaning. I do much better sense I have done this program but have to work at it more at dental times. No zanax agin this last time! And good check up!
I do not stress out with Christmas anymore. I used to. I was like Lucenda on the tapes. Feeling like everything had to be perfect. The right gifts, enough gifts on and on. Make sure everyone had a good time. I've changed. The cards, I only send a few. ( thats all but going out of style ) Baking, if I feel like it. Gifts keep them simple. Enjoy the season. Do what feels good to me. I am a very active person so I need to be careful not to get tired. Relax more. Sit down and visit with people let everyone fend for themselves. Don't worry about the obnoxious Uncle who always shoots off at the mouth. Everyone knows him. I am going to watch my eating too. Esp. sugar! I am going to have more healthy food like celery and carrots sitting around.
Sounds like your setting your self up good too. Work is always a challange! Good with the what ever happens attitude too. What helps me out is thinking what crazyness is happening in everyones lives that I am not aware of. I try to keep conversations short and stay on track. Instead of enviting everyone to tell me long storys. I'm with you on looking after myself better for the 2012 year and beyond! Very nice!!! I am with you I don't like Moanday Blues either! Lol....
Here's a fun song I found. Maybe you have heard it? Its nice and fitting my mood.

Re: Growing up !
I LOVE the Smashing Pumpkins ! Ever since "Today", I've been a fan.
At work today, I called to make my dentist apt and doctor apt for the middle of January. Neither one bother me anymore. I should not have spoken so soon I guess ! LOL
I looks like we are going to be closed at work all through the holidays ! We close the 23rd at noon and then we open up again Jan 3rd ! WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I hope it stays that way. Last year, the same thing was supposed to happen, then all of a sudden we were asked to each pick a few days to go in. I would REALLY like the whole time off this year. I need to decompress.
2 Christmas tunes from me. The first one is my favouorite and the second one I heard on the radio and hadn't heard it in YEARS. The first one is beautiful and the second one is catchy and fun.

Manofmusic,
I really like them too. I never knew they were around for such a long time. I love thier music!
Thats great your over all that stress going to your appointments. Thats great.
Wow! thats great with your little mini vacation! Awsome!!!! You can really enjoy the holidays now.
We are taking Friday and Monday off for both xmas & N. Yrs. I am going to try to get some visiting in with a few old friends I have not seen for awhile. "Catch up" ...
This week I'm going to do a wee bit of baking. I have a couple things I just have to have at Christmas!
I feel like Jimmy Stewart in its a wonderfull life, with this old house we have. Everything we touch or use has been breaking down. We have had more rain here than Seattle. I have a leak that is getting repaired Sat. am. Last week was the chimney. I also had to replumb under the sink. The drain kept poping off and water leak under my sink! My dad should be proud of me, as I did it myself! I love this old house but at times I wonder if we should sell it. Then I see the new stuff out there and my house is built way better than the new. So we keep pouring money into it.
I love your music picks! Those are such magistic animals. The little calf was adorable! I want one!!!!!
I'm going looking for new tunes! LOL...

Re: Growing up !
TTH ! I was so caught up in getting you back for the oldie but the goodie that I forgot to read the post before ! LOL
No baking has to be done around here. I got home from work on Friday to a big box of baked goods in the mail from my sister. She lives up north and has more time on her hands I guess ! LOL Most of it ends up sealed in plastic bags and tossed in the freezer. Remember, I'm cutting waaaaaay back on the fattening foods this Christmas !
I've had a ton of rain here too. Many flooded basements this year (not mine though). I live in an old house too (built in 1927). I get the same thing going thru my head.......move move move....but then I smarten up and I get that thought out of my head. I love the old houses. They're leaky, drafty and have a ton of personality. I wouldn't have it any other way. There are a ton of blankets and comforters for the bed and couch and chairs. It's nice that my house has a wood burning fireplace too. It helps to keep the place warm.
I'd say to keep the old house. You are right. They don't build them the way they used to....if they did, it would cost them a fortune.
Back with another tune !

Manofmusic,
You are a HOOT!!!!!!!! I never heard the gentelman one! That was really funny...
Ahhhh yes, the RR BB gun! That was filmed in part in Ohio. I never been to the house but it is open to go through. That is what they told us...You'll shoot your eye out! LOL....
Well arn't you lucky! Baking in the mail!!!! NICE. Good for freezing too, they taste good in another month when all this is over!
Oh mine was built in 1920. Were in the same family! Our basement has been leaking though. Next year we will have to put some drainage in as its all old and probably not even working. Its mostly dry but after 3-4 days of rain we start getting it in from the walls. We have a wood/ coal burner too. It really is nice, and I really like the smell of either when we use it. We got about 2 inches snow over the weekend. It looks really Christmas - ie out now. Going back in the 40's this week and of coarse rain!
I don't even think you can buy the wood or stuff that our old places are made of. I do love my house and can't imagine living anywhere else. Its been good, we are just in a phase that is repair, repair repair $$$$. The guy working here, loves the joint. He says people who live in the citys pay big money to get thier houses to look like this! (WOW)
ok lets play! LOL....

Re: Growing up !
Good tune !
We've had no real amount of snow yet. It's supposed to be in the 40's next week. Time to pull out the bathing suit again LOL
I'm thinking that next week while I'm off work, I might go and rent a tile cutter. The bathroom really needs to get done. Since the weather is going to be sunny and warmer, I can cut the tiles out on the front porch (it's a covered porch). That sounds like a plan. It's a wet saw, so the water splatters can stay outside.
After work today, I did the unthinkable. I went to a grocery store 2 days before Christmas. Don't people have better things to do then wait until the last minute to buy food ????? Everyone in the city was there. I panicked in line waiting for chatty cathy to check everyone out. Yap Yap Yap. Can't she see I'm freaking out inside ? Yap Yap Yap. I did the breathing and the calm thoughts as I'm being bumped every 2 seconds. I made it out of there and finally made it home.
Now that I'm off work until Jan 3rd. I can decompress.
While I was standing in line at the checkout with ol' Yappie, I finally got this to go thru my head !
