I just pasted the comment in here to look at. I'm just concerned about being called a racist for writing that I am glad for blacks or that I don't agree with the president's policies. I sure hope that doesn't happen.I DID NOT KNOW HOW HE DIED. I WILL PRAY FOR LUCINDA AND HER FAMILY. I AM GLAD FOR BLACKS ESPECIALLY WITH REGARD TO OUR NEW PRESIDENT. I LIKE HIM BUT DON'T AGREE WITH MANY OF HIS POLICIES AND BELIEFS.
Question
Deedee I just wanted to know why you thought that comment was racist. What was it she wrote that was so racist? I'm trying to understand.

Random change of topic...I don't think Deb was tring to be racist, but to refer to people as "Blacks" isn't sitting right with me...I would not want to be referred to as one of "the whites". Just a bad choice of words, maybe?
That being said his race matters in that it marks a major landmark for this country that has always had older, white men in the presidency (aside from JFK). Racism is alive and well unfortunately, but Pres Obama has opened a door for people who are not white, women, young adults. I personally love his platform, policies, and plans, and this is what I think will make him a great president, but his race matters to me in that it gives me hope that we may finally one day see equal treatment of all really happen, which I think most of us know is not the reality in this country right now.
Phew. off my soapbox, just my opinion...

"Red and yellow, black and white they are precious in his site" geeeeeeeeeze, even childrens songs refer by color...BIG DEAL!!! The fact is, We need change in this country and I pray that President Obama will get that done! I'm PROUD to have witnessed this historical event. It has proven to me that racism IS diminishing. Not gone OBVIOUSLY, but diminishing.
Just my thoughts

And sorry for opening a can of worms as I responded to the article of David Bassetts passing...Sometimes, I TOO, can respond to something and make a BIG deal out of it! So, AnxinTx, I apologize, you did nothing wrong!

I do agree with BTTRFLY, in that those were bad choice of words. "I am glad for blacks especially with Obama being president" is not a great choice of words. America and the world needs to wake up and know that racism is a problem and it still exists. I would love to see the day that no one sees color, but that we see people. Martin Luther King Jr had a great dream and I am glad that the dream has been fulfilled. I know that the word of God says the last shall be first and the first shall be last so I say that with our new president God has already allowed something different. An African American male in the White House is what God did, and what God wanted, so it was SO! I pray for the president, and have always prayed for all presidents no matter the race, because we need a change, and we need our economy better.
Let us try to stay on track here at the center- which is to discuss our anxiety situations. I think that comments like that about presidency can get a lot of unecessary feedback on the wrong topic! Just my opinion...

ANGELS CAN FLY BECAUSE THEY TAKE THEMSELVES LIGHTLY
I am saddned for Lucinda. To be fair and honest, I do feel it came as a shock to all of us to find out David took his own life. I feel anyone would "raise an eyebrow" knowing he was married to a wonderful woman that has helped so many people. It goes to show that we are all human. They are in my prayers.
P.S. on another note... God Bless America and God Bless Barack!!!

Amen trd. People are acting like he is the second coming or something. Be careful what you wish for...change? Why would you want to change the greatest country in the world. There are cycles and these cycles are necessary. The economy will get back on track, it would even if I were President. What made me ashamed to be an American is when I watched the millions boo for the great man who served us for 8 years. President Bush was not perfect (and I hate to burst everyones bubble but neither is President Obama) and he made mistakes (and so will President Obama), but he kept us safe since 9/11 and I thank him and God for that. I also pray President Obama. As for the terrible loss the Bassetts have suffered...I pray for them too. It is just a little unnerving though I agree.
