I also do not handle the weather very well. The warmer it is the worse I am, and hot flashes are part of my attacks.
I now check the thermostat as soon as I feel like it is too hot then I freak out!!
i do agree that heat for sure adds to my psychosis
Anyone have trouble with anxiety when it's hot?

The heat definitely contributes to my anxiety. I have never liked being hot. Today it's supposed to feel like 110 degrees in NYC, so I'm not looking forward to it. I agree that having cold water with me is essential.

I was so proud of myself yesterday. I decided to do some yard work. . .and it was HOT here in Texas. Actually my neighbor asked me what I was doing outside at the hottest part of the day.
On one hand that could be considered not to smart
But, on the other I wanted to prove to myself that I could deal with it.
I started getting really hot I could hear my heart beating in my ears. So, I dunked my head under the faucet and came inside for a minute and cooled off. Then back outside.
I realized that even though the heat makes me feel a little different and makes my heart race, it is something that is not the same as a panic attack. I just took care of myself with extra water and breaks and got all the work done. My flower bed looks awesome!
Then this morning in the paper there was this headline that at DFW it was 101 at the hottest part of the day that was 3:30pm which is about when I decided to go outside.
If I can survive that I can survive a more intelligent time of day
The thing is I had my house to come inside to and all.
I do still need to figure out ways to take care of myself if I'm out somewhere and can't always dunk my head or go inside. However, I think it is reasonable to not want to be outside in the hottest part of the day without any way to be comfortable. Around here they have a lot of street fairs and even some concerts in the heat of the day and people end up in the hospital. . . I don't choose to participate in those activities if I won't have a way to cool off, and actually most people I know are that way. I don't think that's anxiety I think that's just common sense if you're sensitive to the heat.
Anyway it felt like a big victory. So then we went to the pool and that felt great except the water was probably 80 degrees. LOL

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.
