SeaRunner, I just looked over here, sorry. The answer to your questions is NO!!! LOL...
I have been very lucky not to generaly have sleep problems. I have had them from time to time, and USED to worry about it. I've done much better in that dept. and I feel good progress has been made. :)
(That was the way I learned to deal with it and it helped me, thats why I thought I would share)
I'm learning about my habits and figureing out just where I need to improve myself. I feel this program has been so good. I still have anxiety, but it is deffinatly not ruling my life as it once did!
You too have such great post, I enjoy reading them all. :)

Thanks for that good thread topic. Maybe having it upstairs would be good too since so many don't venture down here alot? Just a thought
Thanks again

Yes i have a few threads down there.

Ah yes it may be a good idea to put it up under this folder however, I do not want to rob people of the experience of learning the stuff with-in the program. I know that if all I did was find affirmations and get better from them that I would still be prone to falling back into anxiety and depression and I would not understand so much about the condition to help others.

Good to see that this thread is still going strong ! A ton of motivational stuff has been posted since I last posted here.

It's been over 2 weeks now and still no junk food in the house ! I'm eating a bowl of oatmeal as I'm typing this and I can honestly say that I haven't felt this good in a while. Most of my exercise has been around the house, but since this is a Canadian long weekend, I want to do my riverwalk at least once this weekend. I'm still taking the vitamins in the morning and it's actually much easier getting out of bed in the morning ! I'm not a slug anymore LOL

Keep up the motivating posts everyone !

Mike the Ninja -

Although I didn't mean "I would only snag a few" literally, you did catch on something that I've learned about myself. When I take on too much, even if it's just too much information or too many choices, I do become overwhelmed. Once that happens, I tend to shut down and become somewhat unresponsive. So I've learned to deal with only a few things at at time.

On another note, I've been working with my therapist on my sleeping habits as well as my anxiety conditions. One thing she has suggested is to stay up for 24 hours to "reset" my sleep cycle and circadian rhythm. I don't know if it will work, but I figure it's worth a try. I also don't know if I'll be able to pull it off. Once I start to get tired, there's almost nothing that can keep me up. My body and mind just start turning off.

I tried somewhat of a middle ground last night and today. I've limited the amount of sleep I've allowed to minimal amounts by using an alarm and having my partner make sure I get up. It's been hard but I'm getting just enough sleep to function fairly well. My hope is that the limited sleep with cause me to fall asleep at a more decent hour and that I will sleep more fully during the night. We'll find out tonight how well it worked! If it wasn't enough, I still can try the 24-hour no sleep marathon.

THH -

I'm glad to hear that you're getting a healthy amount of sleep now and are not having problems in that area. Being awake and well rested sure makes a big difference with how well we can deal with stress and anxiety so you're so definitely ahead in that arena.

That's very encouraging that you're making such progress with the program and recognizing and changing your habits. That's such a key technique to reaching our goal of recovery. As you already know, recognizing our limits and defining realistic expectations makes the process of healing not only faster but less painful. It takes one more weapon away from the anxiety and helps us avoid beating ourselves up for failing to meet standards that are all too often beyond reasonable.

Keep up the good work,
Jamie

Jilly -

Sorry to not get back to you sooner. I got your email with your kudos about my success post. As always, thank you for the encouragement.

Like I said in the post, it still amazes me what we are really capable of and how often we sell ourselves short. Now the trick is to somehow drill this into our brains which for whatever reason don't want to believe the good stuff!
