I feel much better today. I actually took the day off from work and told them that I was unplugged today. I have a lot of stress on my job and home life and it sometimes get overwhelming. I'm going to try to have a good weekend (whatever that means) because I have a day full of meetings on Monday. My husband comes home today so that's going to be interesting. He isn't going to be pleased about the money that I spent on getting the furnace fixed but I was tired of being cold. Fortunately, he's a great guy and he won't be upset for long. Sometimes I wish I were more like him, he rarely lets stuff get him down. I'll continue to take the supplements when I need them, but I understand about the cost. I noticed that they sell them in GNC and the cost outrageous! Take care.

I have to say I comletely disagree with not taking suplements and vitamins for mood. The truth is, even in winter, I get depressed if I don't take vitamin D. I get very tired, crave food like mad and get depressed. I know it is also important to take calcium and magnesium to regulate mood. But I also take phophotydilserine and l-theanine. I used to take SAMe as well in the past and they made a tremenous difference for me. I am horrified at those doctors and patients who take anti-depressants. Those have horrible side effects and they simply don't work. I took Paxil and gained 30 lbs, slept 18 hours a day and just felt like a zombie. I'll never make that mistake again. I couldn't wait to get off of it. I know Paxil also causes heart problems.
I love what James Gordon, M.D. says in his book, Unstuck: The 7 stages out of depression. He explains why anti-depressants don't work, why depression is not an indepent illness, how to get unstuck in depression though the choices we make in life and that supplements work far better. I have found his advice incredibly valuable. In fact, I'm going to re-read it this week.
