Mornings ar the worst for me too. I physically feel my best in the morning, but mentally the worst. As the day goes on, I flip.

I have tried the "write it down" technique, only to find that made me late for work, or getting worked up enough bring on physical symptoms.

So I switched to a mental checklist: What do I HAVE to get done today? At what meetings is my presence critical? What are the minor tasks to get done or to check-up on?

Hope this helps!

I can definitely relate to what everyone is saying. Before I started the program I woke up with my heart beating so fast I thought it was going to jump out. Now that I do my relaxation cd and the sessions in the program I am learning not to have these anticipatory feelings. If I do get these feelings I tell myself time to put in the relaxation cd. It is so hard to refocus on other things but if you practice it will get better. Celebrate those small victories they are so wonderful.

Hey thanks for the replies everybody. All good suggestions and worthy of giving them a try. The last couple of days have not been so bad...I think partially because I've gotten good sleep the night before and that always helps me.

Wow! I have been struggling with mornings forever. I wake up with either heart pounding or butterflies in my stomach. It got so bad my favorite time of day was time to go to bed. I didn't realize how many other people felt this way. I have been able to talk myself down several times and I use the relaxation tape all the time.
